Franklin earns credits toward his auto insurance by demonstrating safety skills.
Franklin used to take his daddy out for a drive every weekend until they came home one day, Sweet Cheeks got out of the car, and went for a walk on his own. Or maybe it was Franklin who went walking on his own so the rides stopped.
Sadly, Franklin now has quite a bit of difficulty getting in and out of the car.
But when he was behind the wheel of a red Mustang, with no particular place to go, those were good times for Franklin.
My favorite Far Side:
Franklin, you cannot possibly be ole enough to drive!
ReplyDeleteFranklin is a senior dog. He's quite old in dog years.
DeleteFranklin looks damn good behind that wheel!
ReplyDeleteI'll tell him you said so. He loves a compliment, especially when it's accompanied by some petting and a treat.
DeleteGary Larson! Thanks. Franklin is adorable behind the wheel.
ReplyDeleteFranklin is a handsome devil-may-care kind of fellow.
DeleteProbably does a better job than some of the drivers I see on the roads.
ReplyDeleteHe's an excellent driver.
DeleteI would never trust my dog behind the wheel. She'd tear up the car running down the mailman.
ReplyDeleteWhat a naughty girl.
DeleteFranklin looks like he's got a lot of driving experience. And he looks very sharp behind the wheel.

ReplyDeleteI can't encounter the name Franklin without immediately thinking of the Twilight Zone episode titled 'The Fever'.
In fact, my Brother and I regularly play ping-pong at the local Old Folks' Home (Senior Citizens' Center) and we have a collection of ping-pong balls that we've actually given names to. For examples, we have Pinky, and his mother, Maureen O'Hara; we have Papillon, and his dad, Pappy; we've got a K-Dogg; Mrs. Wiley (reincarnated); The Girl From Ipanema; and we have a Punk. Believe it or not, we also have a Franklin.
Here's a cable TV show I think you'd probably like:
[Link> ANIMAL MIRACLES
It can be found for free on the Tubi channel, if'n you has that one.
I hope you're having a lovely Sunday.
