A LOVE POEM FOR A MONDAY

Two lovers in love
laughed at the sea,
laughed as the waves
splashed the shore.
The water was cold
and it tickled their toes
and they laughed
and sang la la la laa.

Two lovers in love
loved though as one, and
laughed as the waves splashed the shore.
The water was warm
and it licked at their toes
and they laughed
and sang la la la laa.

Two lovers in love
labored as one, and
laughed as the waves splashed the shore.
The waters burst forth
and fell to the floor.
They laughed at the shore,
three laughed, and then four
and they laughed
and sang la la la laa.

    1. I'm an optimist when it comes to love--the one thing we can give that is never depleted.

  3. And by now they're not four, I'm sure that they're more. And they laughed and sang la la la laa. Thanks for this!

  9. Lovely. You should keep writing, Janie, please? Your poems and stories are always a pleasure to read. Who knows, maybe you can publish them as
an e-book. Doesn't matter if it's 10 pages. I would love to read them all😉

  10. This reminds me of so many happy times with Terry. I hope we get to play in the waves again. I'll take the warm water over the cold though. Thanks for writing this delightful poem, Janie!
