DOWNTON ABBEY SEEKS SANTA

Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

It's the middle of January. The final season of Downton Abbey is in full swing, and I enjoy it while at the same time I dread the finale of the show. Rita at SoulComfort's Corner and I have loving arguments about certain plot points and characters; i.e., I love Lady Mary because she's a bitch; Rita hates Lady Mary because she's a bitch.

For Christmas 2014, the cast of Downton Abbey acted in a fundraising video that was a hoot.

Recently, I came across the 2015 fundraising shoot. It's never too late to find Santa Claus. I hope you enjoy the search:

In case you didn't see the 2014 Downton Abbey fundraising shoot or have forgotten it, though I don't know how you could when it features George Clooney,  then here's George Clooney in Part I:

Here's George Clooney in Part II (I love Downton Abbey, but when George Clooney visits the set, then how can I think of anything else?):

I have two problems at the moment: 1) My editing allows me only a little time to read your blog posts. I shall try very hard today to listen to your Battle of the Bands posts and cast my votes, and 2) When Downton Abbey ends, then what will Rita and I argue about? I certainly can't say--Oh, ick, you have a sticky little grandchild, when I'm dying for a sticky little grandchild of my own--because then she'd say, You're jealous of my sticky little grandchild. Poo Poo on you.

That will defeat me: a poo poo on you from Rita, the winner and still champion.

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

P.S. I feel a fit of frivolity coming on. Imagine your Junebug sings while she works:

Branson you can drive my car
We'll hurry off to the bar
Branson you can drive my car
Straight into my bedroom.
Beep Beep Beep Beep Yeah!

I know Tom Branson isn't the first choice for most of us, but I heard that George Oceans Gravity married himself some fancy schmancy lawyer. So I call dibs on BRANSON!

  1. Downton is so good, it's going to be hard to let it go. Mary is definitely a bitch, whether you like her or not. Maybe they will soften her up a bit before the season is over.

    1. Her soft side has already been seen. She loved Matthew. She's been sweet with Anna so many times, and most important of all, CARSON LOVES LADY MARY. "Even a butler has his favorites, m'lady." If she weren't a bitch, she wouldn't have been able to take over the estate, and Robert would have run it into the ground again. He thought Ponzi was brilliant. I am a proud fan of Lady Mary.

  2. I watched the first two episodes of Downton Abbey but couldn't get into it. If I knew George Clooney was on it sometimes, I would've kept on watching it! lol

    1. I hate to disappoint you, but George Clooney was only in the one fundraising video. He's not on the show. Downton Abbey isn't for everyone, but I adore it. So does Willy Dunne Wooters.

  3. I tried watching the first episode of Downton Abbey...it was too quiet, if that makes sense. I'm usually watching TV while working, so if a series is too slow, I can't stay with it. I never could get into it--but I never made it past episode 1. George Clooney would probably catch my eye and keep it, though!

    1. I can't watch Downton Abbey while I'm working. I have to give it my full attention. Now that I'm watching it a second time because Willy Dunne Wooters likes it, I've noticed it's much funnier than I realized at first.

  4. OMG Janie! These are hilarious! I can't believe I have never run across them. Tom would not be my choice, but about half of the women in the show could have their way with me. Okay, so I'm easy. Maybe it's their accents.

    1. I choose Tom Branson because he looks pretty studly, and he's a nice guy. George Oceans Gravity is taken. Thomas is gay and weird--not that the two have to go together. I certainly don't want Mr. Carson, nor Mr. Molesly, nor Robert. Mary's suitors don't grab me. I don't want the footmen. That leaves me with Tom Branson. Besides, he has that adorable little girl. I could read to her, and we'd play games. I like children.

  5. Oh my hubby, especially my hubby, and I will be sad when Downton Abbey ends. We are loving every moment of this show. It is so well written and performed. I love these posts you have here. I have to show my sweetie this-too funny

    1. I thought that Willy Dunne Wooters would like it, but he LOVES it. He doesn't want to watch anything except DA. I don't know what he'll do after the last episode. He might cry himself to sleep.

  6. OMG!! How come this didn't come to me! Darn that Feedburner emails. I absolutely loved the first Christmas scenario with Clooney and the second one is an absolute hoot, too!! I had never seen that one. I love that they have bit parts for famous folk. Chuckled through them both.

And I still don't like Mary. She's more nasty than nice. And I do wish you had your own sticky little grandchild. ;)
    *love and hugs*

    1. Some blogs that I follow never show up, and I think the person has quit blogging. Sometimes that's true, but most of the time, the posts don't show up for some reason. I think the DA stuff is hilarious, and I found some parodies of it, too.
