START THE CELEBRATION WITH RYAN GOSLING

As promised, I'm presenting my top ten most popular posts as part of my one thousandth post celebration. This post was first published on April 12, 2012. Four hundred three people viewed "DEAR RYAN GOSLING". Isn't it amazing that Ryan Gosling looks so much like Willy Dunne Wooters? Maybe writing about Ryan helped bring WDW into my life.

Here's #10 on my top ten hits list:

Dear Ryan Gosling,

I think you are quite a hotling.

Although you're not Johnny Depp, oh, baby, kiss the back of my neck.

You're the same age as my son. I bet you're a lotta fun.

Some people might think I'm a doddering old fool, but oh, Ryan, I can be pretty cool in my high boots and my short skirt. C'mon. Let's get drunk and flirt.

Ryan, as an older more experienced girl, I don't mind giving you a whirl. I can even take you to school. You'll find this teacher is no fool.

Ryan, I fell in love with you when I first saw Lars and The Real Girl. You were so quietly sweet.

Then last year, in Crazy, Stupid, Love, you had The Hurricane and me in heat.

And now I've seen you twice in the last two weeks. In Drive and The Ides of March, you cannot be beat.

In Drive, you bash in a few heads. Some characters end up dead. But you don't truly want to kill them. You're simply protecting your woman.

You're so idealistic in The Ides of March. Idealistic and smart. You know how to get your way, and keep George Clooney's character at bay.

Oh, yes, yes, yes, dear Ryan Gosling. You are quite the hotling.

Infinities of Gosling love,

Janie Junebug

  2. Dear Lucy,

I don't know what's so funny. You wouldn't scoff at my Ryan, would you?

    Love,
    Janie

(He WILL be mine. Oh, yes. He WILL be mine.)

  3. I may be old & loony,
but I'd rather have George Clooney.

  4. fishducky, Clooney is definitely a keeper. He's easy on the peepers.

  5. What a lovely...and somewhat perverted letter, hehe. I'm sure he'd love it.

I'm going to have to see Crazy, Stupid, Love, because I'm just not feeling the Gosling attraction from photos alone.

  6. Nicki, Ryan is THE reason to see Crazy, Stupid, Love. He's so funny and sweet -- that's one of the things I love about him. He brings a real sweetness to his acting even when he's bashing in heads in Drive.

  7. ...hmmm...I just don't get the whole Ryan Gosling thing. But I still think you should rock his world Miss Janie Junebug, and I totally think you would with your thigh high boots and your short skirt! Wooot! You go girl!

  8. Oh Sandra, Sandra, Sandra. I'm so sorry you're not into Ryan. He's Canadian, you know. I don't think I'll be rocking anyone's world unless it's a geriatric world. Maybe I'll be able to rock chairs.

  9. So here's the deal - whoever gets their man first, you + ryan or me + vin must introduce the other to their crush. 'Cos they must know each other, both being actors...

  10. Jane, I'm sure they are the best of friends, just like us. But Johnny Depp is still my first choice in a man.

  11. I'd hold out for Johhny Depp, missy! Kyle Chandler is my dreamboat guy...er, um...if I didn't have Rudolph, of course.

  12. Stephanola, Johnny is still at the top of my list, though I wish he were on top of me. Ryan just seems a little more realistic than Johnny, and maybe he doesn't smoke. Johnny is a chimney and cigarette smoke makes me cough. And I won't tell Rudolph anything about this conversation when he calls me tonight for phone sex. Oops! Let the cat outa the bag on that one.

  15. Hi Janie .. congrats on the 1000 post .. but also the prompt to post about Ryan Gosling again .. can't say he's my ideal - but being somewhat older might deter me! Happy thoughts .. Hilary

  17. You are so much fun! I love the way you approach life. I also think this is a great idea and would love to do this on my blog when I get to 1,000. I'm somewhere in the 800s now, so it will be a while.

I have noticed though that the most popular posts that show up when you use that gadget, are not the most popular posts if you take a look back over all your posts. There are a lot of discrepancies. Do you have any idea why?

    1. Thank you, Inger. I haven't noticed discrepancies in my top post numbers. I do have some posts that have been "G+1" thousands of times. Willy Dunne Wooters told me it was spambot.

    1. Your confession is quite shocking, Ms. Elson. If you like action movies, Drive is very good. Crazy, Stupid, Love is a great rom-com. Ryan makes the movie. I first fell in love with him in Lars and the Real Girl, a very quirky film. A number of people like a movie he's in with Michelle Williams. Is that her name? It's called Blue Valentine. I think. Maybe you should start with Crazy, Stupid, Love.

    1. About half the comments are from the first time I ran the post. I wonder if it didn't show up in your reader because I just changed the date on the post. I didn't copy it and put it in a new post. I'm running another top 10 post tomorrow. We'll see if it makes its way to your reader.
