I SMELL SMOKE

Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

I'm sorry, but I'm too tired for more of the inquisition. I've spent most of the last two days putting potting soil and plants in the pots that surround my deck.

I lifted things I shouldn't lift and contorted my body in ways it didn't want to go. I have mosquito bites on my eczema.

Go ahead. Burn me at the stake.

Or wait until I feel better, and I promise to finish answering the fifty questions.

Fishducky sent me this cartoon. I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks, fishducky!

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

  3. Hello, Janie Junebug!

It's me, Señor Shecky Shady aka "The Spanish Imposition."

I'm so sorry you overdid it and are pooped and itchy.
Take two Willy Dunne Wooters and call me in the morning.

I hope you feel better soon, dear friend.

  4. I don't think anyone would fault you for taking a break from the Inquisition. Also, there's no rule that you have to post every day. I hope that you like/at least don't hate the pickleope drawing I did of you. If you don't like it, please lie to me as it is probably the last pickling of a reader I'll ever create.

  5. Poor you. I would have been stressing about those questions at the beginning already. Your poor body. Anything gardening related intimidates me. Have a great day.

  7. You're allowed to be tired, but not burned. Rest, relax and pot those plants! We will wait patiently for your witty return.

It has been an exhausting week for me, too - I feel ya, Janie!

    2. And I am not allowed to be burned because that would mean I'm a heretic, and I swear I'm not.

  10. Mosquito bites on your eczema? Yikes. How about some mosquito repellent? Love the cartoon of the grammar police. I need to tackle the flower pots, as some are getting pretty straggly looking. I have one geranium that must have special genes...blooming like crazy!

    1. Mosquito repellent does nothing for me. Mosquitoes adore me.

  11. LOL! That actually never used to bother me--the preposition aspect. Ah, ignorance is bliss, eh?

Get feeling better and take some rest! Here have some cheese while you kick your feet up.

  12. LOL! I like to break rules, and sometimes I end my sentences with prepositions! I enjoyed the answers to your questions yesterday and your sense of humor! And I like the empowering second choice for the name of your blog. I used to read a shorter picture book version of "The Little House in the Big Woods" to my second and third graders. You sound like you need some TLC! Treat yourself today!
