Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,
During the month of September, Princess, Alice, and I are walking at least a mile every day for an American Cancer Society fundraiser. If you are on Facebook and feel inclined to visit us there to make a donation, we would appreciate it.
You can go to https://www.facebook.com/janie.goltz.7/. I've pinned the fundraising post to the top of the page.
Walking the girls at the same time gives me some serious exercise. Princess walks beautifully at heel and serves as a mentor to Alice. Alice starts out walking on my left before she starts to bob and weave as if she's Ratso Rizzo in New York City traffic. Princess remains calm while Alice wanders and I get our new kid back into position.
I've lost some loved ones to cancer. Carol's daughter, DeeDee, whose birthday was the day before mine, was taken from us several years ago. It's a pain that doesn't leave Carol's heart.
Infinities of love,
Janie Junebug

And I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more.
ReplyDeleteYes, YOU would.
DeleteLove the dog with the side-eye!
ReplyDeleteGood on you and the girls for walking!
We enjoy our walks and we'll enjoy them even more when it's a bit cooler.
DeleteThe side eye from that dog is the best.
ReplyDeleteThe girls frequently look at me the same way.
DeleteGood luck on the walks! I'll be sure to contribute!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Steve. Your contribution went through.
DeleteOh, Janie, thank you so much for sharing these memes. Wonderful food for thought and smiles, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being here, Linda. The first location for my current job was close to a bit of water. I loved spending time with with the ducks and their fluffy babies.
DeleteOnly someone who has been side eyed by a dog can truly appreciate that one!
ReplyDeletePrincess side eyes me regularly.
DeleteI hope you get more donations, Janie. I shared the Facebook page and put the word out. My father as well as my best friend died of cancer and we need to put an end to this insidious disease! Love the dog memes! ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing that, Debbie. We're all touched by cancer in some way.
DeleteWhat a wonderful contribution, I'm sure it will make a big difference in people's lives. I hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThank you. The American Cancer Society does good work.
DeleteWell done you and Princess and Alice. Cancer is so evil.
ReplyDeleteToo true.
DeleteOnly the folks who had had their dog side eye them can truly appreciate that meme
ReplyDeleteWalking with purpose and love -- what a touching tribute to those lost and a gift of hope for others. Cheering you all on.
ReplyDeleteThanks! We appreciate it.
DeleteJust read the prior post about Alice. She has a wonderful new home!
ReplyDeleteThank you. We love our Alice.
DeleteI love a good walk.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the fundraiser.
The walking is fine. Raising funds is far more difficult.
DeleteSo funny to name a dog Five Miles! 🐕
ReplyDeleteI think that's cute, too.
