RAIN RAIN GO AWAY AND TAKE RON DESANTIS WITH YOU

Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

The governor of Florida is an idiot.

He's an embarrassment and an idiot.

Ron DeSantis has been running around making appearances in other states and chastising President Biden while Florida teems with COVID.  He's banned masks in schools. He opposes hospitals making vaccinations a requisite for their staff.

He appears to be gearing up for a presidential run in 2024.

The governor's office released a statement during July that promoted protecting the people of Florida from COVID:  "The best way to do that is to get vaccinated; the vaccines are safe and effective for most people and are freely available everywhere in Florida."

However, the DeSantis Web site features anti-safety merchandise.

Are the fine unvaccinated people of Florida going to believe the words in the statement or the merch that tells them what they want to hear?

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

  2. I hope not. I really, really hope more and more of them do disbelieve him. He has even made our news.

    1. Some people who are dying usually come to the realization that they should have been vaccinated.

  3. I really do hate this because we had a trip to the beach planned for late August.

  4. The DeSantis website is appalling. What an absolute asshat. (I’ll bet HE’s been vaccinated.)

    1. He got the J&J vaccine back in April. I don't think it was publicized or used in a way that would encourage others to get the vaccine.

  5. I'm sure he plans to run in 2024, but the way things are going, there will be nobody in his party. or his own state, left alive to vote for him. Be safe out there Janie!

    1. I don't go out much and when I do I wear my mask, but I'm tired of this crap.

  6. You are correct in your assessment of Ron DeSantis. It is ironic that his very name means "of health" the thing he is doing his best to deny to the people of Florida. How do we keep electing people like this?

    1. DeSantis won over Andrew Gillum with a .62% margin. Florida has a lot of retired Republicans in small communities, but still, he didn't win by much.

  7. I imagine that since Florida and Texas account for most of the new cases and deaths, his base will be shrinking as he continues to act the fool.

  9. What amazes me is his followers. And the parents that love their kids yet put them at risk. Did you see the mask burning the parents had and had their kids drop their masks into the fire?

  10. Seems unbelievable that people want to fight for their right to get sick in a pandemic, but what can you do. We'd have to stop people who have huge public platforms touting those rights and we haven't been very successful so far with that. Probably have to wait until enough of the unvaccinated get it that they pay attention or see it all in a different light. The hardest hit states have suddenly gotten more people getting vaccinated. Yah! Makes sense, people. ;)

    1. Some of those people fighting for their rights still believe that COVID is the same as a little case of the flu and it's just a matter of some sniffles and body aches.

    2. Yup--different light. First they have to believe it is real and nasty. ;)

  11. I wonder if the people who are not vaccinated have already made up their minds.

    1. Some have made a decision that probably can't be changed. Those who might be swayed have their anti-vaccine feelings affirmed by public officials such as DeSantis.

  12. I worry for the people in those states where the governors have ruled that masks cannot be mandated. Masks are such a simple preventative measure, and those governors can't even download the decision to the schools; no, they have to exert their power and FORBID the schools to take measures to protect unvaccinated kids. I get so tired of their selfishness.

    1. If school districts want to have mask mandates in Florida, then DeSantis threatens their funding. Disgusting!

  13. DeSantis is Trump Part 2 -- Trump's puppet. He has no original thoughts and has done nothing for Florida. Yet he is raising mega out-of-state money. It's all raw ambition and lust for power from these two facists. I would vote for Mickey Mouse before DeSantis (that is if I'm still allowed to vote).

  14. He's a special kind of Lunatic that Governor, tho' we have a Covidiot Governor Dumbass Ducey here in Arizona too. I would bet both have been fully Vaxxed, but they sure as Hell are leading their Sheep to the Slaughter aren't they? I guess I don't understand why any Politician whose only interested in furthering their Political Career would make it a priority to kill off their Voting Base tho'? If all the Survivors are on the Opposing Side, well... I'd imagine their Political aspirations are over and they'll just be sitting on the Wrong side of History for convincing so many to commit mass Suicide. In about 4 Months this more contagious variant should be taking out far more Unvaccinated than they ever thought possible... and alas, so many Innocents that didn't even qualify to get a Vaccine {Children} will be killed off due to not being adequately protected by the Adults who could have added a layer of protection for them, and refused to.

    1. They'll certainly lose some voters because of deaths. I hope children aren't killed because of this craziness.

  15. Twatnozzle- perfect! I'm still flabbergasted that there are what might've been at one time sane adults who a) elected this turd and b) believe and follow what he spews. Of course, I've said the same about Old Failure 45 and all those who suck on him, too. I just don't get it. Have they not seen or read about the hundreds of thousands who've succumbed to this??

  19. DeSantis is getting worse and worse. Were he to run for president and win, I might have to move back to Canada. How can anyone be behind him when he is so callous about his constituents and especially their children? It's incomprehensible to me.
