ARRRRRRGH MY BACK!

Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to check on your Lake Junebug reservations. The day that the post appeared about the glories of a Junebug vacation, I bent over to pick up Lappie, and WHAP! PAIN! Terrible pain in my lower back. Carol! Help! ARRRRRRRGH!

Carol came running to smack me in the head hard enough that I wouldn't notice how much my back hurt.

It didn't help.

My doctor said it's a pulled muscle. I'm on muscle relaxers, but I'm not quite as relaxed as I would like to be. It gets better every day, though.

Be patient with me and I'll get my castle on Lake Junebug ready for visitors.

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

  1. Oh no! That kind of pain is the worst! I pulled a back muscle while bending to tie my shoes. I hope you start feeling better and that the muscle relaxers "relax" you more. Sending gentle hugs.

  2. Oh no! I hope you feel better soon. I am battling a bladder infection--so I hope we are both better soon.
    What a cute picture! :)

    1. I'm already cutting back on muscle relaxers. I don't need them as much now.

  6. For me, pulled muscles feel best with a heat-pad, but this is not medical advice. However, I'd try that before I'd take a muscle relaxant.
We need our backs for just about everything, don't we? Sending healing thoughts~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    1. The healing thoughts are going straight into my heating pad. I used it first but it wasn't enough by itself.

  7. I know a few people who have back pain and it can be very debilitating. I hope yours recedes quickly. And like EC, I'm glad Carol was there to give you a hand.

Love that picture - the dog on the right looks like he's trying to figure out how to get that toy!

  8. Two words: MOIST HEAT. Get a wash cloth, get it wet, wring it out, and put between you and a heating pad. Works SO WELL for back pain after the first 24 hours (when it's supposed to be ice.)

Good luck! Don't try to get back to normal too soon, or you will just delay it! Spoken as a voice of experience.

    1. Okay. I will try the moist heat. Maybe that will help this episode come to an end. Thank you.

  9. Ouch. This is the worst and takes patience and forbearing to recover. Please be patient and forbearing.

  15. Hang in there. He better not drop his toy mid drive. The world will end soon after, or at least that will be the case with my brother's dog.

    1. I'd be afraid that if a dog dropped a toy that he'd jump out of the window to go after it.
