BATTLE OF THE BANDS: SIMON & GARFUNKEL V. PIGPEN THEATRE CO.

Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

Wow! This Battle of the Bands was a close one. I'm not voting because it won't change the outcome.

The winners are

Simon & Garfunkel with 17 votes

while PigPen Theatre Co. finishes with a respectable 15 votes.

Thank you for voting, and I wish the rest of you in the U.S. a blessed Thanksgiving.

I'll ask Simon & Garfunkel to sing us out with one of my favorite songs.

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

  1. Excellent Battle, JANIE! It's always so risky when one puts the original artist up against a cover, but you pulled it off. Good show!

I also love 'BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER'. It's gorgeous! I think of it as a Spiritual; I always imagine those words coming from Jesus Christ. And it works that way, because those are the sentiments He left us with.

    1. Well said, Mr. McCarthy! I think that song is very spiritual, too. Exactly what Jesus is to those of us who are Christians.

  2. That WAS close, wasn't it? I'm glad there are so many talented artists in the world of every stripe; we can all find something to please us. And if we can't, we're not trying hard enough :)

I'm really enjoying your BOTB posts, by the way.

  4. This was a grand BOTB. I'm still more interested n the singing artists. Just watch Art's mouth and see some parent, some teacher, someone, taught him enunciation!

    1. I learned enunciation from singing in the school choir.
