CHIP CARTER REMEMBERS HIS FATHER
I'm sure the Carter's children and grandchildren have a rich store of anecdotes to share about their parents. I particularly enjoyed this one.
If you mean Jason Carter, he served in the Georgia State Senate and was the Democratic nominee for governor of Georgia in 2014. He lost but received a respectable percent of the vote.
Aww. What a wonderful story. I wasn't that impressed with Carter as a president, but as a humanitarian he was magnificent. Truly a great man. Here's hoping 2025 is decent. Sandra sandracox.blogspot.com
My nephew's family used to live in Atlanta city proper. One year they had their kids out trick or treating, rang a doorbell, and who should answer but Jimmy Carter, who was manning the Halloween door at one of his kids houses. I think it was Amy's but I am not positive. A good dad is a good dad always!
What a wonderful story about Jimmy Carter. Thank you for sharing it, Janie. I studied Latin for two years in high school. I had to have it to get into university. I don't remember much about it, but Latin awakened an appreciation in me for the mythology, history, and culture of Italy - except for Pompeii which I had been fascinated with since I was a little girl.
It's pretty damn impressive that Jimmy Carter could study Latin each day and teach it to his son in such a way that Chip could grasp the subject and conquer the test.
What a wonderful story!
ReplyDeleteThey are a swell family. I'd hoped his grandson might run for something.

DeleteHe did not expect his kid to do something he was not prepared to do himself.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that video. Another example of what a good person he was.
