Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,
Yesterday I passed an exam that allowed me to obtain the necessary credentials for my job. About half of us passed. I'm grateful to be one of them. The exam was quite difficult.
So I'm starting to return to holiday life. I've baked one kind of cookie, and I hope to bake a lot more Friday evening and Saturday. This evening I addressed Christmas cards, although I'm not sending as many as usual.
I'm very happy to tell you that the folks in my new workplace are all polite and friendly––no shouts, threats, or harassment, and I'm certain that kind of behavior would not be tolerated. It's a delightful surprise after my last job.
Franklin and Penelope were shocked the first day I rose at 6 a.m. and left them on their own for the day, but they adjusted quickly. Their Auntie Maureen comes over every day to let them out and give them some attention.
A reminder for jewelry lovers: Maureen makes adorable jewelry and sells it at
Made with love earrings and more - Home | Facebook
You might need a gift for someone, or better yet, a gift for yourself, especially after you see what other people spring on you.
Almost every day I wear Christmas earrings made by Maureen.
I'll try to return to at least semi-regular blogging soon. I have a great story to tell about my recent mammogram, or boob squishing as I prefer to call it.
Infinities of love,
Janie Junebug
I love this shot of Franklin and Penelope because she actually leaned over him and kissed him on the mouth. |
I love her jewelry. Glad the job is good... Who would think with jobs open everywhere that good ones would be so hard to find? -juli
ReplyDeleteIt took me about 6 weeks to find a good job, which I suppose isn't really too bad. It only took about 3 weeks to find a bad job. I'm glad I didn't have to take the bad one. I love my benefits package.
DeleteCongratulations on passing your test, Janie! Your furkids are adorable. ♥ I wish you and the gang a very Merry Holiday Season and best wishes for a Happy New Year. We sure could use some good news for 2022, yes?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debbie. Yeah, I know the pups are adorable, but thank you for saying it. I keep thinking 2022 has to be better on the COVID front. 2021 became pretty good when Joe Biden took office. His leadership isn't perfect, but I am so glad we have adults in charge again.
DeleteGlad to hear that your new workplace is full of people who know how to act like professionals! There is no excuse whatsoever for disrespectful or badly behaved workplaces.
ReplyDeleteThis place is a pleasant surprise after the last one.
DeleteSounds like th new job is going to be a good fit! Brava, I say, brava!
ReplyDeletexoxo
Thanks, Bob! So far so good.
DeleteCongratulations on passing your exam. And hooray for a workplace full of civilised people - something which has become rare.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is rare and it shouldn't be.
DeleteYay! Congratulations on passing and on nice workmates.
ReplyDeleteMy co-workers are all nice and the people I've encountered in management cheer us on.
DeleteCongrats on passing your test! So glad you are in a mentally healthier environment. I have an interview tomorrow with another school. Hoping I get transferred and start anew after the Christmas break. I could use some prayers.
ReplyDeleteI hope that works out for you, Lorraine. I've been wondering if you'd given more thought to retiring.
DeleteYay! Glad the test is in the past. Congratulations on that and, again, on the new job. That shot of Penelope and Franklin is heartwarming.
ReplyDeletePenelope and Franklin aren't the kind of dogs who cuddle with each other and they don't play together, except for the rare occasion they run in circles together around the yard. But sometimes they surprise me by showing their devotion to one another.
DeleteBest wishes for your future
ReplyDeleteI love that picture too and feel so bad I'm too old to get another dog for Faith. You haven't been on the blogs for awhile, so may not know that our Samson passed away. I'm glad to hear that thhis new job environment is polite and so much better than you last one. All the best with the job.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about Samson. We enjoyed him through your eyes for a long time, but I know he had some health problems over the years. I'm sure Faith will adjust to being the only child.
DeleteHi Janie - so well done ... and excellent you're working for what sounds like a good organisation. Love the dogs - all the best for the coming year - and enjoy a little peace and with less worry - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThank you, Hilary. It's lovely not to wonder every day if I'm going to be fired.
DeleteSeveral years ago I walked into the mammogram unit only to come face to face with one of the most evil women it has been my bad luck to ever meet. She was married to a paedophile and backed him up when he said he wasn't abusing their children....until that is the kids grew up and he left her for another woman. Hell hath no fury.....a couple of months ago she crossed the street in front of me and I was so hard put not to drive over the evil cow (although that is givign cows a bad name).
ReplyDeleteWow! That's quite a temptation.
DeleteSweet pic.
ReplyDeleteGlad your new job is going well.
Thanks, Sandra. I've missed my blog buddies and I'm glad to be back.
DeleteThis remnds me I need to get the last of my Christmas cards in the mail.I send a shit load of cards
ReplyDeleteThat's nice. Most people don't seem to send cards these days.
DeleteI really hope all goes well and you love this job.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the fur babies. :)
If I have to work, then at least I have a job where people behave themselves.
DeleteI'm glad you got credentialed and the job is working out well! Woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Steve.
DeleteGlad the New Job is going well and co-workers are pleasant to work with. Getting stuff done during the Holidays this year has been a challenge, it took me a full week to put up and decorate just my Tree... clearly I'm either slowing way down or becoming more ambivalent about how much work it all becomes? I still Love everything about the Holidays and Hope you have a Memorable one.
ReplyDeleteAll is calm, all is bright.
Delete*HOW DID I MISS THIS*? (Likely my computer issues, don't ask)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on passing an exam half don't, (like the BAR in California) and can't wait for your mammogram story
So nice to see you here, Mirka. Late doesn't matter.
