Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

Sadly, I can empathize with a woman who is getting divorced and needs training so she can get a job. Kate wants to support herself and her daughter.

This is Kate with her darling girl:

Kate applied for financial aid so she can work in IT (I think that's a wise career move).  Her application for financial aid was rejected.

She started a GOFUNDME campaign so she can get an education. I donated $100 earlier this evening.

If you can find it in your heart--and wallet--to help Kate, I am certain the money will be used wisely. If you can't contribute, than consider passing on the word about Kate's fundraising effort.

To make a donation, please visit: http://www.gofundme.com/jobtrainingforkate

It will be the jewel in your crown.

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

  2. What a sweet story. And yes, IT is a very wise career choice. She'll be able to find a job easily with that kind of degree.

    1. No, it's not. I've been in Florida almost five years. Each year gets a bit easier, but I have Favorite Young Man to help me.

  4. Janie, so sweet of you to help out a friend. Good luck to Kate in her schooling. It's always interesting those who do qualify for assistance and those who don't. Sometimes it makes no sense at all.

    1. I re-read what Kate wrote. It was her loan application that was rejected. Why and how people get loans and financial aid is a mystery.

  5. I wish her nothing but the best. It was so nice of you to help her out too. You're a pretty cool lady. We still need to meet up one of these days. Jacksonville isn't that far from Palm Coast!!

    1. I would love to see your boyfriend's art. You said one time that you're in St. Augustine every Sunday. Is that still the case? If yes, what time and where? Willy Dunne Wooters might be willing to take me to St. Augustine.

  6. Why was she rejected? They throw money at students these days. She needs to keep applying while she is at it. Every little bit helps.

I'll pass along the gofundme information, too, and see what I can add to it!

    1. Thanks, Cherdo. It was a loan application that was rejected. I have no idea why except that people who have lots of money can get huge loans.

  7. You have a good heart, Janie! I wish Kate well, too. The road she's on isn't easy, but I'm sure she'll succeed.

  8. This does not make sense why she would be rejected. That is awful. I have seen many women in a similar boat and I congratulate her on her new chapter in her life

    1. It bothers me that wealthy people can get loans so easily. They have money. They don't need loans. Give the loans to the people who truly need them.
