My new employer wants to know about pro bono (free) work that I've done so I can pass my background check and keep my job.
If I have done some kind of work for you without charge, please email me at dumpedfirstwife@gmail.com if you are willing to write a brief email to my employer to say what kind of work I did for you and that I did not charge you.
Examples of work that I might have done for you without charge:
- EDITING
- REVIEWING/PROMOTING YOUR BOOK
- PROMOTING YOUR BUSINESS
- WRITING AN ARTICLE OR GUEST POST
- WRITING A BLURB ABOUT YOUR BOOK THAT YOU USED IN A NEW YORK TIMES ADVERTISEMENT, ROBYN ALANA ENGEL
- ANY OTHER WORK YOU CAN THINK OF AND YES I ENDED THAT WITH A PREPOSITION AND I AM NOT ASHAMED
Please email me ASAP and when I'm not at work or making the long, treacherous commute, I'll let you know what I need you to do . I hope that writing and sending the email to my employer won't take more than 10 or 15 minutes of your time. I will also send personal emails to some of you because I know I've saved your shit been kind enough to help you out, so check your inbox before you email me at
You complete me.
Infinities of love,
Janie Junebug
You promoted my business by running that contest. I hope you remember, I don't. It's another piece of my life on the floor of the red bus. But you did jog a synapse and we can put it together again. View from the Bench won the contest, the prize was a scarf, and I wrote answers to questions about weaving. It all can be written as a business promo; I'm still good at writing.
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh, Joanne. Plenty of people have written emails, so you relax your synapse.
DeleteGood luck. I am sure that the testimonials will come flooding in.
ReplyDeleteThey are!
DeleteI responded. Always ready to help the awesome woman that is you.
ReplyDeleteYou're such a sweetheart. I wish I could have a job as the grandma to your children.
DeleteLove ya. Got your back.
ReplyDeleteAwaiting specs.
I knew I could count on you!
DeleteWould it help if I said that your blog is educational and has helped me master some tricky parts of language with your clever tips? That's free help, right?
ReplyDeleteIt sure is.
DeleteI'm sure loads of people will come forward. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThey are and I'm grateful.
DeleteGood Luck! Although, judging by how many times I've read a post about you editing someone's work or promoting someone's work, I'd say that this should be a slam dunk.
ReplyDeleteIt's going well.
DeleteWish I could help! It sounds like there are others who can. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteYou're sweet, but no need for concern.
DeleteAll the best with this. I know you have helped with editing your friend's work, I assume for free, and I'm sure they will provide the documentation you need.
ReplyDeleteThey are, Inger.
DeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Janie. They'd be lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteQuite a while ago, I let you read My Island and you made several comments/suggestions. If you think that counts, I could write something appropriate for you.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the offer, but I passed today.
DeleteGreat... and it's about time!
DeleteOh, Janie, I wish I saw this sooner. :(
ReplyDeleteDoes providing moral support count?
Love,
Jessica
