FLOWER POWER & VISITORS

Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

I'm sorry I haven't been visiting your blogs. I'm fighting migraines, agoraphobia, and depression. I'd like to find depression's nose so I can punch it.

Favorite Young Man and K were here the first weekend in May. They repaired my garage and cleaned it out ––more about that another time. K also brought me two beautiful blue flower pots and filled them and another pot I already had with flowers because, as she said, You can never have too many flowers.

K righted the lamp post (it had started to lean again) and added these beautiful flowers.

More flowers provided by K that fit perfectly in this little nook of the big tree in my front yard.

Remember the flowers on the front steps?

Princess decided it would look better if we had two pots with begonias so she galumphed into the pot on the middle step and killed it. I rescued the begonia and added it to one of the window boxes.

An area at the side of the house that used to be all weeds now has fewer weeds, some grass, a few flowers, and some bulbs that are coming up.

Much of what I planted this year has died or failed to make an appearance, probably because of the drought. We got some rain Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon, and it's supposed to rain today. Sadly, Lake Junebug remains without any sparkling water. The fate of the
Lake Junebug Resort
&
Rumpus Room
remains undecided. I'll ask Princess to take a meeting so we can resolve this extremely important issue.

Nature doesn't limit itself to the great outdoors. When I took a package of toilet paper out of the bathroom prior to mopping the floor, I discovered a visitor. Perhaps it was good old Fred Frog, hoping he could be hired again as an entertainer at the resort.

This video is one of the first I made, or perhaps the first. I'm sorry, but it will make you long to visit the

Lake Junebug Resort

&

Rumpus Room

as soon as possible, but do not call, text, or email me about making reservations until Princess and I tell you that we're opening.

We will have another visit from FYM and K during June (yay!), and we're hosting a guest now for an extended sleepover. Princess will tell you about the current boarder when she's in the mood to write a blog post. I don't know when that will happen. She has a rather mercurial temperament.

I promised another selfie after I got my hair done. I saved my nickels and dimes and had my hair cut and styled, but this selfie shows off my beautiful body. tee hee.

Yes, I'm modeling for department stores in my spare time, and everybody wants a picture of my butt.

And if you believe that, then I have a bridge I want to sell you, especially if you'll take a felon with it to stop the cage match at the White House.

How come he can attend the big event outdoors without any bunker to save him?

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

  1. Hi Janie. I hope you are feeling a bit better. You have a great way of getting me to smile. And your final question about the felon is the one I have been voicing myself. I also wonder how orange Nero can golf without a bunker as well. I look forward to hearing about the opening of the Lake Junebug Resort!

    1. How can he do anything, go anywhere, without the magical bunker? The opening of the resort is still uncertain. I can't pin down Princess on a meeting time.

  2. I prefer Fred the Frog and his compatriots outside.
Pretty flowers, especially the ones round the lamp post. Visitors are always welcome, but even more so when they're helpful and bring nice gifts.

    1. This frog is the second one I've had in the house. The first was in the laundry room. When I picked him up with a paper towel to remove him, one of his legs stretched out so far that I couldn't believe it didn't break. It didn't, though, and he returned to the great outdoors with his friends.

  4. Lotsa doings at Lake Junebug Resort & Rumpus Room this time of year, but some of those visitors need to be moved out ....
Love the Blue Pots! Great splash of color.

    1. The worst visitors are the palmetto bugs. They leave here dead. I don't mind lizards and the occasional frog.

  5. The flowers looks beautiful. So nice that FYM and K have been coming around. Princess needs to learn to take instruction instead of just making her own random decisions about the decor. I was glad to read that you‘re simply modeling (for Macy’s and not Victoria’s Secret, nor even International Male?) that leotard and not actually wearing it in public.

    1. I saw FYM and K once last year. Looks as if it will be at least twice this year, so we're making progress. I think Princess will always make random decisions. It might be fun to wear the leotard in public, perhaps with a skirt and boots.

  7. Well you've seen my post and I agree you can never have too many flowers!!!!! Everything looks so pretty I love the pots on the steps going up. If there was a frog in my house I would probably hyperventilate and pass out! Frogs creep me out.

  9. The flowers look so happy in their new pots, and I love how they brighten up every corner.
Princess clearly has her own gardening plans, but I’m glad the begonia survived. 😊
Hoping the rain brings a little sparkle back to Lake Junebug.
    Fred Frog made me smile.
Sending soft thoughts as you deal with the migraines and blues. 💙

    1. The begonia has since died, but I'm trying to resurrect it. Thank you for keeping your thoughts soft. We try to keep the house very quiet of late.

  10. Migraines are awful and depression sure doesn't help! I hope the lovely flowers are brightening your days a little. Janie. ♥ And may your guest be a welcome addition to your little family.

  11. So, was the frog in the bathroom alive?? I've never seen one quite like that. I would have had a heart attack for sure! Glad you're getting some with the house. Sorry you're feeling so down. Hopefully it will pass.

    1. He was alive, and I thought he looked strange, too. A frog in the house, or a lizard, doesn't bother me. It's the palmetto bugs that I continue to detest and sometimes scream over.

    1. Frogs can be pretty cute. I think they're surprised when they get in the house, and they're grateful when I send them outside.

  13. Fred Frog walks down walls and does crab impersonations. You must hire him, Princess, should you decide to reopen.
Janie, so sorry to hear about your health problems. If I see depression lurking around I shall be sure to bop him on the nose for you.
Glad you have Favourite and K.
