Dear Hearts . . . and Gentle People,
This version of Softly and Tenderly is from the movie Junebug. What a great title.
This film is the first time I remember seeing Amy Adams. She immediately became one of my favorite actresses.
Sing us on out, boys, and let's all have a good Sunday. It's okay if you're not a Lutheran.
Infinities of love,
Janie Junebug
Amy Adams became one of my favorite actresses five years earlier in Psycho Beach Party.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday, dear Janie Junebug!
Okay. I have to look up this one on IMDb. I think you are a fibber.
DeleteI'm not a Christian but this is still one of my favourite hymns remembered from childhood.
ReplyDeleteThis rendition of it is simple and beautiful.
DeleteJunebug is a good movie and a nice scene for today. I first saw Amy Adams in "Enchanted". She had a really nice singing voice.
ReplyDeleteI saw Enchanted after Junebug. I couldn't believe what an adorable movie it was. I try to see everything Amy Adams is in.
DeleteI liked this
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful...
ReplyDeleteYes. I have to sing along. I sang this to Willy Dunne Wooters on Sunday. He tolerated it quite nicely.
DeleteI don't recall this film, and need to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI knew Amy Adams was someone to watch when I saw Junebug. I think she was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award. She's been nominated a number of times and has yet to win.
