Good morning! I hope my computer works long enough to write this post.
Perhaps you'd like to see what the Beach Boys looked like in 1965, before they turned into drug-addled geezers:
Now how about David Lee Roth when he WAS Van Halen?
Don't you think that first move broke his b-a-l-l-s?
I figured I should spell it out in case children, such as Shady and Cherdo, are in the room.
Let's get to the winner of our contest now. Remember, it's Beach Boys v. David Lee Roth on California Girls.
I hope my count is correct. I have computer problems, and the numbers say, Let's go ahead and jump to make it hard for the Junebug to read us.
It's not a shutout:
Beach Boys 19
David Lee Roth 11
Infinities of love,
Janie Lee Roth
Let's take it away with my favorite Beach Boys song:
Beavis: She spelled "balls." (snicker snort snicker snort)
ReplyDeleteButt-Head: Yeah...cool!
Hey ho, dear Janie! Thanks for letting us know the score. 19 to 11 is a respectable ratio for your band battle. Congratulations!
I hope you get your computer fixed soon so that you can visit SDMM. Until that fine day comes I wish you well, dear friend!
I don't know what that word was because I can't spell. If it was offensive, I appreciate the effort you take to keep me on the straight and narrow. I need all the help I can get.
ReplyDeleteGreat battle, by the way!
Hey, JANIE, but you never said who YOUR vote went to!
ReplyDelete'Good Vibrations' is your favorite BB song, eh? Yeah, that's a tough one to beat. (It was my high school's unofficial anthem.) I would likely put it at #2. There's just a beautiful yearning in 'The Warmth Of The Sun' that I love so much.
There are just countless BB songs I love, as they've always been one of my very, very favorite groups.
In my opinion, this Battle was far closer than it had any right to be. The Hack vs. The Beach Boys? That's like putting my singing ability up against Johnny Mathis. Pshaw! I oughta be on the warpath!

I would have voted for the Beach Boys if I had seen this battle. Funny thing is that I'm looking back and I still don't see this Battle.
ReplyDeleteI empathize with you on the computer problems as I've had my share in the past. Even now with my traveling I can't do as much on the computer as I can when I'm at home.

Tossing It Out
I promise you it was there on the first.
DeleteIt's hard to believe the top clip of the Beach Boys is 50 years old.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the Beach Boys.
ReplyDeleteI remember when Jump played CONSTANTLY on MTV. That was such a fun song and video.
ReplyDeleteYay for The Beach Boys:)
Oh those Beach Boys did look so good and now they look like they are part of the Walking Dead-the zombie kind. I am glad they won.
ReplyDeleteAwww....I was rooting for Dave, but it's hard to compete with the original. ☺
ReplyDeleteHope your computer problems get resolved soon.
Ah! Good Vibrations was the ONLY Beach Boy's song I liked, to be honest. They were too California bubble-gum for me. But Good Vibrations--ahhh! Very different from the rest of their songs. I remember when it came out I couldn't believe it was theirs--LOL!
ReplyDeleteI figured they would win. Van Halen was after my time. Not really familiar with them.
I hope your computer issues get fixed. :)
I'm surprised it was that close. My favorite Beach Boys song is any song off of Pet Sounds. By the way, I can't spell, so what did David Lee Roth break in that video?
ReplyDeleteYou know, I actually thought Beach Boys were going to win, even though I voted for David Lee Roth. I love the cheesy 80's and have always been a DLR fan, but thought he was going to lose by more than he did. So I'm happy with the results.
ReplyDeleteUnless I missed it, you didn't say who you voted for. Hoping this is not insulting, but THANK GOODNESS The Beach Boys won, even though that punk DLR got more votes that I ever would have imagined.
ReplyDeleteBeach boys any day
