WOW! IT WAS A LONG THIRTY HOURS

Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

Is it possible for time to stand still?

My answer is YES. For example, when I was in labor with my two darling children (I didn't have them both at the same time; Wow! Can you imagine twins six years apart?), time stood still. Or came pretty close. Thirty seconds of a contraction felt like thirty hours.

Time has been slow lately because my computer hasn't worked well. It did weird stuff all last week, and Tuesday it quit working completely--except for the damn browser that had taken over my browser. So thirty hours, a technician, and some $ later, I think the computer might work.

Please, God, let it work.

I have lots of catching up to do on editing, reading your blogs, and reading and writing comments. Please be patient with me.

Now let's let the former and forever mop tops play us out with their homage to California Girls.

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

First, a reminder of author E.C. "Middle Child" Stilson with editor Janie "Junebug" Goltz in 2013.

Warning: The Beatles video has a couple of split second scenes of nudity.

Wow! I just came across this gem. I can't leave it sitting on YouTube, beautiful but lonely.

  1. Welcome back, dear Janie Junebug! I know how frustrating it was for you to have 30 hours of down time w/o being able to do any blogging. I'm happy to learn that you have the problems fixed. I thoroughly enjoyed the Beach Boys' a cappella medley!

    1. The purity of their voices is astonishing. It wasn't just that I couldn't blog. I couldn't edit, email, do anything for which I need my computer. I can't call many people because AT&T messed up my phone so most of the numbers are lost.

  2. It sounded awful! Glad it's been scraped away.

    1. I miss you all the time. I'd like to do more videos for YouTube, but I don't know you to use my webcam in my laptop or how to record with my telephone. It would be fun.

  4. Oh no! Sorry about your computer, Janie. Don't worry, I am very patient. After the week you had, you might need a break:) Wishing you the best.

    1. You are very patient, sweet Murees. You understand that sometimes we have problems. You don't accuse me of not working. I want to work and haven't been able to do much.

  5. If you don't use Elisa and Janie in a Battle of the Bands, you're not the Janie I thought you were (that one is my FAVORITE).

I'm glad to hear you're computin' again...love ya!

    1. I can't have Elisa v. Janie. We'd have to sing the same song. She could do hers, but I can't figure out how to make videos. It was an accident/miracle that I got the one video on YouTube.

    2. I would also have to kill her when she won, and I don't want to spend the rest of my life in prison.

  10. I was going to question where the Beatles singing California Girls promised video ended up, but then I watched the video of you and "Middle Child" and lost my mind. First off, that was hilarious, you doing the cup dance to the beat of your own tune slayed me. Then you busted out your pipes and belted out a hell of a tune while she did the actual cup dance!?! Loved it. More of you two, please. It's like a modern Abbot and Costello.

  11. I grew up with the Beach Boys and Beatles.
We forget what a beautiful sound the Beach Boys had.
But I think the 60's and corporate music has a lot to be rake over the coals for. What happened to the Beach Boys and music in general. Controlling on one hand and alcohol and drug excess on the other.
The only other music business that is worst is Korean.

    cheers, parsnip

    1. I paid more attention to the Beatles while I was growing up. I didn't appreciate the Beach Boys until I was an adult and I bought Pet Sounds on CD.

  12. Such talent! Janie, you are amazing. I can see that Middle Child is impressed with it.

    1. Isn't she? I was thrilled that she appreciated my talent. The hardest part about making the video was that I couldn't stop laughing. Do you like my pink and purple hair? Now it's a little pink, with my natural golden tresses. A certain Wooters complains about pink and purple hair. Wait till he sees my sparkly lavender nail polish. I know exactly how he'll look.

  13. Sorry to hear about the computer issues. I would have no idea what to do. Love the beach Boys-such great voices and of course I had to look for the nude scene in the Beatles tune:)
