WHEN SHE'S NOT SINGING ON THE ACADEMY AWARDS

Long live Queen Stefani!

  1. You're on a role.

This is one place where we are not on the same page, I have never been a fan of hers. I'm sure that is fine - she has plenty. Who can say what makes one person like one singer over another?

More John Legend, Paolo Nutini, Glen Hansard and A Great Big World for Cherdo.

    1. A croissant? Warm, with extra butter. What is A Great Big World for Cherdo? Is that the name of a band, or are you declaring yourself ruler of the world? You forgot to put me in the "more" list.

  2. FACTS ABOUT THIS SONG AND VIDEO:

Gaga was heavily influenced by Madonna and this song and video were obviously inspired by Madonna's song and video "Express Yourself."

The video for "Express Yourself" was inspired by Fritz Lang's 1927 film Metropolis.

The song "Express Yourself" was inspired by a love letter I wrote to figure skater Rudy Galindo.

    1. Agreed, but I didn't know the Galindo part.

  3. Give me this Gaga song/performance over her Sound of Music tribute ANY DAY. She is a true artiste.

    1. She is, but I think she can be more than the artiste she's been in the past.

  4. I really like that song, but I have never seen this video. Adds a lot more to chew on--LOL! She does like to shock, like Madonna. But I always liked Madonna for going her own way, too. :)

    1. I like the song, too, but it's definitely based on Madonna's music.

    2. I think Madonna got stuck in basically the one persona she created, but I don't think Gaga will. At least I hope not. The performance at the oscars showed that she wants to break loose and launch herself into other areas. She has the talent.

    3. I don't think Madonna could sing the way Gaga did even with all the training in the world.

  5. Ah, this one was from the pointy shoulders phase I do believe. Glad she got that worked out!

  6. She is a performance artist in so many ways. One thing of note-I like her better with more "meat" on her:) Sorry for the pun. She looked too thin in this video. She beats to her own drummer and I applaud her for this. She has talent in so many areas

    1. She's quite petite. She's 5'1". I think she's put on an appropriate amount of weight, too. She was thin to the point of looking anorexic.

    1. Madonna's and Gaga's? Gaga's is definitely a copy of Madonna's.

  8. I wonder when this video was produced. I bet a while ago.

BTW, I just finished the first season of Call the Midwife. I like Chummy the best.

    1. I adore Chummy. You should read the books. You'll admire her even more when you read the story of the ship's woman.
