Recently Someone I Love requested new photos of my dogs. This photo of Harper is our favorite. He looks so happy. He even has a touch of grin on his face. Now that the weather is chilly, I love having him in bed at night. He presses his back up against mine and it feels wonderful.
I like it doggie, too.
ReplyDeleteI've had nights when a dog kept me warm, too... Mostly during my heavy drinking days!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful boy! Looks so content, too.
ReplyDeleteCoffey and the silver fox kinda stole where I was going with a comment.
ReplyDeleteSo I'll just say ahhh...and keep my filthy mind in check.
This is great!
ReplyDeletedirtycowgirl, I think I just might know where you were headed, my dear.
ReplyDeleteSuz, Yes, he is a beautiful boy. And how is your boy?
Coffey and Silver, hmmmmmmmm.
@Pat: Lucky guy!
ReplyDelete@Pat, better than you face.
ReplyDeleteAwww, Harper is beautiful, and great name too! And yeah, I'd rather have my dog in bed with me than Wayne...and in answer to your question, I don't call him by his name. I'm not fond of it. He goes by Sweetie and Babe, and fucker...can I say that last one here?
ReplyDeleteI need to get my GF a big dog to sleep with when I'm not there. just to fill the space I leave , so she does not fill it with somebody else.
ReplyDeletePat, Aren't you the naughty boy tonight? First you kill me with a chandelier and now you're getting pussy all over the place.
ReplyDeleteSandra, Fuck is one of my favorite words. You can say anything you want when you're with Lola. I never called my husband by his name either. Harper is Harper Lee. He doesn't know he's named after a woman so he doesn't mind. My black Lab mix is Scout. My collie Faulkner's nickname was Boo Dogley. I kind of like To Kill A Mockingbird. All of my dogs, except Franklin, have been named after authors or characters in books.
ReplyDeleteAtley, That's an excellent idea. But what will you do when you return and the dog growls at you when you try to get in bed? We had a hound dog who used to get really upset when my husband wanted to get in bed. My husband would get pissed and make him get out of the bed. I preferred the dog -- Thoreau.
ReplyDeleteI love animals but I can never sleep with one on the bed as I love my linen clean. Also I start sneezing. But I can see how he can be a nice warm pillow next to you.

(: Beautiful animal.
ReplyDeleteHe is gorgeous. How much does he weigh ?
ReplyDeleteCute dog. :D
ReplyDeleteThat's one cute dog.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute picture and cute dog. They are so content on human furniture aren't they? Sometimes a dog is better than another human any day, except when you need something in the middle of the night. Then you have to do it yourself!! haha. Great post.
ReplyDeleteThat's nice, hes like mini heater :P
ReplyDeleteGizmo, He's more than a mini heater. He's practically an electric blanket.
ReplyDeleteBarb, Michael, Interwebs, My 2 Pesos, Harper and I thank you for your compliments.
Paps, Fortunately I don't sneeze, and I change my sheets frequently.
Jaya, He is about 80 pounds. He is the largest of my three boys. He's very tall. The first time my friend Carol saw him in my backyard, she said, Lola, you have a horse on your deck!
i miss having a dog. i miss him sleeping up against me. sometime again soon i hope...
ReplyDeleteyour guy looks like a happy family member:)
Great picture.
ReplyDeleteHarper looks like a great cuddle!
ReplyDeleteBuddy our little corgi mix( he was my mom's) sleeps at our feet, but if he gets cold or the weather is stormy, he gets between Rick and I!
Oooh! Sweet puppy! I'll trade you. I've got a tooting, pooping on the tile lucky black cat!
ReplyDeleteEd, My greatest fear when I got divorced was that I might not be able to keep my dogs. Thank God they are here with me.
ReplyDeleteSimon, Thanks.
Jilda, Corgis are adorable.
Stephanie, I love you, but I will not take your pooping cat.
Ah oh my gosh so cute! Is he part German Shepard? I'm pretty crappy at guessing types of dogs but I have a German Shepard so I like to think I'm right on this one.
ReplyDeleteVirgin, Shall I address you as Virgin or do you prefer a different moniker? We believe Harper is a smooth Collie - Malinoix mix. I hope I spelled that correctly. A Malinoix is a type of German Shepherd.
