GRATITUDE TUESDAY: MY KITCHEN

Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

As you may recall, Favorite Young Man painted my kitchen a beautiful, bold red recently, to go with my white cabinets and black counters. But I realized I needed to clean out my cabinets and re-organize the kitchen.

So this is what the kitchen looked like for a while:

I have new photos of the way the kitchen looks now, and I am so grateful for Favorite Young Man's paint job, and for my skill in organizing that comes from the little fits of OCD that I tend to have. This is the same spot you saw in the pre-reorganization photo:

Here's a lower cabinet with pull-out shelves that hold bakeware:

Here's a large cabinet that's up high. The stuff on the highest shelves are things I don't use frequently:

Here's the lazy susan in the corner. Look, Rita! See the crock that holds my frequently used utensils:

Here's my favorite butter dish:

And now for a little mommy bragging. The following is a Hurricane original:

The following is another Hurricane original:

I'm a grateful mommy, and a grateful kitchen owner.

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

    1. Everyone should have a butter dish with a dog on it.

  2. Your kitchen looks great! Mine is not so organized right now, due to having to puppy-proof it for a while. Hurricane is quite a talented artist- do you paint/ draw?

    1. I can't paint or draw to save my life. X can't either. Both kids are good artists.

  3. Love your kitchen and want to see more of the red in the shots with the cabinets and countertops. It looks brilliant. Can't wait to have mine all finished. And I can't wait to share the big news about the big lie I told about my countertops....Oops...

    1. The truth will out. There isn't that much red to see, as the wall space is limited. Most of the red is around the refrigerator.

    1. Once I had my first flat-top stove, there was no going back to regular burners. My range in Maryland had an indoor grill, with a downdraft. It was heavenly.

  8. I had to click on this post when I saw the snap shot, mostly because I'm nosy and wanted to see what your kitchen looked like. I wish I could go into every blogger's home and snoop around! I'm creepy like that, I guess :)

Kitchen looks awesome! I love that butter dish! Makes me want to paint one.

  11. Your kitchen looks fantabulous! I LOVE those red walls... and the paintings look perfect in there. (Verrrry talented!) I like the butter dish, too; I have lots of whimsical things like that, but our daughter has a LOT of things like that. Whimsy oughta be her middle name.

I know you're feeling good. Whenever I organize drawers and cabinets, I have to pause to admire my handiwork every time I'm in the kitchen. Silly, but it makes me ridiculously happy, too.
