WHAT? MONDAY

Gentle Readers . . .  and Maxwell,

Today's question should be an easy one.

What did you do for Christmas? Or tell us what you did for Hanukkahor any other celebration you care to discuss.

We're waiting.

Infinities of love,

  8. We had--& are still having--a wonderful holiday! Our oldest son, his wife & their son & daughter flew in from CT to spend Christmas with us. We bought a tree which my daughter-in law decorated for us, since I'm decrepit. That granddaughter & another granddaughter (who lives about 30 miles from us) are best (long distance) friends. We've all been getting together every day, including my daughter-in law''s mother & brother, who came down fronm No. California to join us. Wonder of wonders--my 2 17 year old granddaughters did all the dishes from our Christmas dinner for 16 people. I LOVE MY FAMILY!!!!

  9. we hosted a luncheon at my place, and with that took the trouble to prepare eggnog.
i think it was like 12,000 calories a cup :p
then there was another dinner party in the same evening, so i must have consumed like 20, 000 calories in a single day.
    yikes.

  11. There's not much reason to celebrate Hanukkah here in the Santa Clarita Valley. A holiday is better when you're happy with where you are, and considering that we seem to be the only Jews here, compared to what awaits us in Henderson, we just mosey on through Hanukkah. Mom started a new tradition of giving us our calendars for next year on Hanukkah rather than after the Times Square ball drops since we're pretty tired by then. The calendars aren't boring at all and are what we've picked out back in November: A notebook-style calendar for Mom, a page-a-day Food Competitions one for Meridith, and a page-a-day Johnny Carson one for me (with quotes from monologues, skits, etc.). Naturally, Meridith and I don't take the plastic off of ours until the new year.

For Christmas Day, I watched the last half of the Knicks/Celtics game and was relieved the Knicks pulled it out at the end, and was amazed at the ending of the Bulls/Lakers game. THAT's how you play basketball, and the Heat were champions already with their first game. Then Meridith made her first turkey which came out a masterpiece, and there was sweet potatoes and stuffing to go along with that, as well as chocolate silk pie and pumpkin pie, both of the Claim Jumper frozen brand. Not great pumpkin pie, but I'll take what I can get here for now since I can't find my favorite so fast.

It wasn't a day for research yesterday, just reading ("These Foolish Things" by Deborah Moggach), but back to it today.

And I'm proud of me for missing Rudolph, but not feeling alone or lonely!!!!!!

I really did enjoy the time to myself.

  21. Friday night: in-laws house. Saturday afternoon: mass. Saturday night: in-laws house. Sunday morning: home. Sunday afternoon: in-laws came over. Sunday night: light show at the botanical gardens. Monday: in-laws house.

See the pattern? I went to work Tuesday and felt so much less headachy.
