ReplyDeleteThank you, EC.
DeleteThe Oscars are still a thing????? Haven't seen one of them.
ReplyDeleteMy Year of Dicks!!!! That's the name of my autobiography. I'm suing!
I should have known that was yours.
DeleteThe only thing I've seen is Avatar.
ReplyDeleteI know it's extremely popular, but I didn't see the first one and just don't feel interested in this one either.
DeleteNot only have I not seen the list, I have seen only a couple of the films. I truly am tragically unhip.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling you would like Everything Everywhere. It's confusing and hard to follow but somehow it ended up making sense and it touched my heart. It's streaming on Showtime.
DeleteHi Janie - no idea ... I saw Bill Nighy in Living and Mrs Harris Goes to Paris ... loved both films - very British though. It's always interesting to see what happens ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see Living and haven't found it on any of my streaming services. Mrs. Harris is streaming on Peacock so I will watch it soon.
DeleteThe only best picture one I've seen so far is "Elvis" but apparently "Everything Everywhere All At Once" is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video so I will watch that soon. I've heard such good things about it!
ReplyDeleteI watched Everything on Showtime streaming. I think you might have to pay extra to watch it on Prime Video. I liked it a lot.
DeleteFor the first time EVER, I haven't seen a single one of the nominated films for best picture. I conclude I must have become a recluse post Covid
ReplyDeleteI haven't gone to a movie theater since before COVID. I watch at home. Too many viruses are going around for me to want to sit in a crowded theater.
DeleteI'd love to see Ana de Armas win, since she was phenomenal, and my bro was an extra in that Blonde. Woohoo. Thanks for listing this all.
ReplyDeleteLove you.
I'm afraid that even your brother's presence couldn't save Blonde. I tried to like it but couldn't. Ana de Armas is good. I prefer Michelle Yeoh. I've also heard the Cate Blanchett is phenomenal in Tár, which will be streaming soon so I'll be watching.
DeleteAn interesting list this year
ReplyDeleteMichelle yeoh. For sure x
I think she's great, John. I'm also looking forward to Cate in Tár. I think it starts streaming this weekend.
DeleteStephanie said The Whale was amazing. I will be doing tons of watching no doubt while recovering from surgery. I'm making a list of things to watch.
ReplyDeleteThe reception to The Whale seems to be pretty mixed. A lot of people think the movie is bad but still think Brendan Fraser is great. I haven't seen it.
DeleteI really like Elvis but haven't seen Tár yet. I try to see as many nominated movies as I can, but there are some from the last few years that I still haven't seen.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have lots of fun enjoying these movies, Janie. It's an interesting mix. I'm so out of it. I've only seen "Elis" which was so sad and "Glass Onion" which was funnier. There are a number I'd like to see. I haven't been to a movie theatre since before Covid. Take care!
ReplyDeleteI only see movies when they show up on my streaming services. I don't want to sit in a theater, where I'm exposed to viruses and I can't pause the movie when I need a bathroom break.
DeleteElvis was a great movie but I haven't seen the rest, and probably won't until they are shown on a flight to the USA and then hopefully I will!
ReplyDeleteI liked Elvis a lot, too.
DeleteFrankly my dear, I don't give a damn about Hollywood, the Oscars and these people.
