I LOVE THIS MOVIE
A weepy conclusion:
Billy's dad holds back his tears. Michael's face, fills with joy and pride for his friend.
Mrs. Shady would love this movie and I will tell her about it and watch it with her. Meanwhile, we are working our way through Last Tango in Halifax and loving it.
The movie doesn't have a great deal of ballet--it's just at the end and when Billy starts to learn to dance. I think the young man who played Billy is more of a tap dancer.
The movie Stand By Me gets me every time. I cried like a baby the first time I saw it, to the point my mom had to calm me down because it got to the point where I was hyperventilating.
I might have to buy this one. Blue collar dad goes from very unsupportive to teary, as I recall. It's been a while. I'll Netflix it AGAIN to refresh my memory.
You do love your movies, Janie....I have trouble keeping up with all your reviews! ;-) I don't know the story behind this one, so need to read up on it. Love the dance.
Oh, I can't watch this video. I haven't seen the movie yet!!

Okay. Don't watch.
DeleteMe too. But I'm a guy so I won't admit I just said that.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay for guys to get weepy. WDW does sometimes.

ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week, dear Janie Junebug!
I'm so glad you like Last Tango. WDW and I look forward to the next season.
DeleteWouldn't you know - I've never seen this movie. But I do love to watch ballet. So sorry.

ReplyDeleteWhen you cry, if you take slow deep breaths it makes you stop.
DeleteI have not seen this movie. Maybe movies are what I can do while I'm out of work for the next 4-6 weeks... maybe. :)
ReplyDeleteI still don't know what happened to you. Maybe I'll find out when I read posts. If not, then you'd better let me know what's up.
DeleteIt's a powerful ending to be sure.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love it.
DeleteI loved it, too!!
ReplyDeleteWho wouldn't love Billy Elliot?
DeleteAwww COME ON! I wanted to watch that movie, spoiler dealer! (That's not true, don't worry, you spoiled nothing.)
ReplyDeleteI wasn't one bit worried.
DeleteThere's nothing sweeter than a gorgeous dancer, even if his name isn't Billy Elliot.
ReplyDeleteI love this movie, too!
I hear Shady is quite the jitterbugger.

ReplyDeleteI might buy it, too. I have to see how much it is.
DeleteNever seen it. It's one of the rare movies that a lot of people talk about that hasn't interested me at all.
ReplyDeleteWell, all righty then.
DeleteI love it too!..
ReplyDeleteWe all need to get together to watch Billy Elliot and cry.
DeleteHi Janie - it's an excellent movie isn't it ... just so much feel good factor .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteOh, yes. It's beautifully made.

ReplyDeleteI can watch a movie just for fun, but I'm interested in film as an art form.
