OUCH!

 Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

I hurt my back again yesterday (Sunday). It happened the same way as the last time. I lift something a little bit heavy. A few minutes later I bend down to pick up something on the ground. My lower back says, Oh, no you don't!

So now I'm in pain and not doing much of anything.

I decorated the living room, especially the mantel. I only put up one tree this year. It's in the dining room so I can see it from my desk while I'm working. It has lights on it and a few ornaments. I don't know if placing more ornaments will proceed. My back is in charge.

I've already decided I'm not baking cookies this year. I don't feel up to it. I usually fill cute bags with cookies to give to my team, the IT guys (I love them), and the security guards. This year we are on J's team. I can't possibly make enough cookies to fill bags for 13 people, plus the 2 IT guys, plus the 2 security guards. So rather than wear myself out, I'm just not doing it. I have some little bags of Cheryl's cookies to share.

People will probably like Cheryl's better anyway. I don't think my homemade things are as popular as they used to be when we lived in Maryland. I've spent hours embroidering quilts for babies or decorative lap quilts for adults. People used to say, This is beautiful! This is amazing! Now they don't know what I'm giving to them and act as if it's a burden. Things have sure changed.

At least the dogs like everything I give to them.

Pardon me. I'll go now. I feel pretty whiny and unloved today.

Maybe some love,

Janie Junebug

    1. I'm sorry about that. I don't want anyone joining me. Let's whine together now: whiiiiiiiiiiine. whiiiiiiiiiine. Now I think we need a nap.

  4. At first, I thought for a split second I saw a racoon in the slide show!!!! Your pups are loved And do take good care Janie!!!

And for a disgusting laugh and appalment, did you hear the Dump came out with his own line of colognes and perfumes, called Fight Fight Fight???? $200 a bottle! He is soooooo tacky. I must smell of shitty callous desperation with a pinch of bigotry.

    1. Definitely no raccoons! I did not hear about its latest sales gimmick. I prefer Chanel #5 to the odor of sweaty rapist.

    1. The office holiday party is tomorrow. It's way too late for cookie baking now. If I bake anything later, it will be for me.

    1. Dogs appreciate everything. I throw a tennis ball for Princess. She's thrilled. I get out a bag of treats. I see nothing but wagging tails. I open the Bark Boxes. Pandemonium ensues. People are never that happy.

  8. Yes, OUCH. I remember my doctor telling me when I first complained about my lower back that everyone has back problems. Thank you, Doc. Here's to healing.

    1. If everyone has back problems, does that mean our back problems don't mean anything? Are we supposed to blend it with the crowd and bear the pain stoically? I don't feel too stoic at the moment.

  9. Oh my gosh. So sorry to read about your pesky back. I loved the video of the dogs. And like Mistress Maddie, I thought one looked like a raccoon too!

    1. I watched the video again. I don't know who looks like a raccoon. It has to be one of the photos of Franklin or Penelope.

  10. NO fun to have a sore back, but yes, many of us have experienced that before and likely will again. I hope you feel better soon, Janie. It's frustrating when you can't move properly. Not only do dogs love everything they are also full of empathy and will comfort you when you're down. ♥

    1. Princess worries so much. Penelope runs around and fusses when I'm upset but Princess sits in front of me, silently pleading for me to feel better.
