FRANKLIN FRIDAY FINALLY ON FRIDAY: I'M NOT SURE WHAT SANTA PAWS GAVE TO ME

Hi! Hi, Every Buddy! HI HI HI! It's me, me me me memememememe, Franklin the Bordernese and I don't charge a fee to love me.

Kissmas was really great even though Mom went to werk. That werk stuff is dumb.

She had treats for us, though, and Santa Paws left gifts.

I don't know understand what my gift is. At first I thought it was a big, chocolate doughnut, but it doesn't have a hole in the middle. Don't tell Mom I tasted it a little bit and it is definitely not a doughnut. Here's what it looks like:

Don't you think it kinda looks like a chocolate doughnut?

Mom keeps patting the not-a-doughnut and saying, It's soft, Franklin. You will like sleeping on it. You are getting kind of old to sleep on the floor. I think you will be comfortable if you use it as your bed.

The not-a-doughnut is in the bedroom, but that doesn't make it a bed. THIS is a bed:

It's the bed that Mom and Penlapee sleep in. I been invited to join them, but Mom snores so I prefer to sleep on the red rug in the bedroom and I am not too old to sleep there.

Maybe someday I will figure out what the not-a-doughnut is.

I'll tell you when I know.

Next week, Penlapee will show you her presents.

Okay I love you bye-bye.

I am way too dognified to sleep on a thing
that looks like a doughnut.

    1. I stepped on it and it scared me because it's not like stepping on the floor.

  2. Shelby, the dog, has a similar non-bed. It is only used for a death roll experience after eating. The brown rug is for sleeping.

  3. Funny thing is, if that was a fancy new pillow for the bed, my dogs would be all over it. Call it a dog pillow and none of them want to sleep on it.

    1. It's too big to go on Mom and Penlapee's bed. Anyway, it doesn't belong there.

  4. Hi Franklin - it sure looks like you've got one fancy comfortable bed to sleep on ... give it a try ... happy weekends to one and all ... that 'werk' thing is something we have to endure! Cheers Hilary

    1. Werk, werk, werk. Mom says she has to werk so she can afford to take good care of us. She'd take better care of us if she stayed at home.

  5. Hi Franklin. You sleep anywhere you like. And tell your Mom that you don't feel old at all.

    1. I told her I don't feel old. I'm a very young 10, or I might be 11 or even 12.

  6. Adorable! You should write a series of Franklin and Penelope children's books. Seriously.

    1. But it's not a bed or a pillow. I don't know what it is!

  8. My cat sleeps with Laura. When she goes to school, he switches to me, or my chair. I prefer the latter.

    1. I stay in Mom's bedroom all night. During the day if she's not at stupid werk, I stay close to her in her office.

    1. Soft? Mom said it's soft, too. But it is a kind of doughnut? This is gettin' curiouser and curiouser.

  11. Have you been talking with my cats? They refuse to try new things just to show who's the boss. Don't let them fool you!

    1. I swear I never once communicated with your cats, Mrs. Martha. I don't talk cat talk.

  12. I dunno, Franklin the Bordenese, that not-a-doughnut looks pretty comfy . . . tell you what, get Mom to sleep on it for a few nights and if she likes it then you could try it too.

I'm glad you don't charge a fee for us to love you, because it would get expensive real fast :) That's a compliment, Franklin!

    1. Thank you, Mrs. Jenny. You're real sweet, like the not a doughnut should be.

  13. You are utterly lovable, Franklin! And a lovable Bordernese like you should be able to sleep wherever you choose. Mom was being thoughtful and concerned about you when she got the not-a-doughnut because she loves you so much. So, sneak in a try sometime. Then, if the red rug feels uncomfortable some night, you've got a backup. Happy New Year, my cute friend!

  14. Dear Franklin, like they used to say in the Alka Seltzer commercials, "Try it. You'll like it!!"

  15. Of all the many pets we've had over the years, not ONE of them ever chose to sleep in their oh-so-nice purchased beds. Why should they when we have a nice king-sized bed? I'm just grateful they allowed us to share it with them... :)

  16. I might be persuaded to sleep on a real donut, depending on the flavor. Nice gift, Franklin!

    1. I don't want that bed. Santa Paws should have talked to me before delivering that dumb not-a-doughnut bed.

  18. Dear Franklin, please try sleeping on the donut. (Franklin is so adorable!)

  19. Orson (the Silver Fox's cat) Sez: I'm gonna give yer Mom here the benefit of tha doubt and say she's mistaken (not lyin'). It is a donut! You can travel five miles or less from the Silver Fox's (and my) apartment and find seven different Dunkin' Donuts locations. What Mom got ya is a Dunkin' Donuts "Boston Kreme" donut. (I guess they call it that cuz they can't spell "cream." Maybe Trump told 'em how ta spell it.) I'ts cream-filled, so of course there ain't no hole in tha middle!
