ALMOST . . .

Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

Please pardon my absence of late. We've had some strange goings on at work. I look forward to catching up on your blogginess and hope you are all well.

As is her wont (German Shepherds shed approximately 365 days a year), Princess was shedding Saturday. As I brushed large amounts of hair from her, I wadded some of it up and put it on Rebekah's head. She said she will dye it orange and be Donald Trump for Halloween.

Yes, it's almost Halloween. And it's almost election day.

Bob and Annette, who live across the street next door to Maureen, put two Harris signs in their yard. I was thrilled.

I also saw a number of other Harris signs as I drove around the neighborhood but only a couple of trump signs. I've been afraid I might be attacked if I put a sign in my yard, but the other signs made me brave.

Here's my first ever yard sign for a candidate.

I already voted, of course, and my ballot was received.

When I was dusting recently (I know it's shocking but occasionally I clean the house), I found the sad, dessiccateded corpse of a little lizard on a windowsill. I gave him to The Top of Armoire Gang to be their pet.

The Gang didn't seem him as a pet, though. They turned him over to Vice President Kamala Harris, who pulled off his dried up tail. They all laughed.

Then Vice Presiden Harris and President Biden held the lizard and chortled about its similarity to a certain TV reality show host who cheats, bankrupts his businesses, and lies, but somehow thinks he's qualified to be POTUS.

The end is nigh.

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

  1. It is LOVELY to see a post from you. And yes, Shepherds shed a LOT. Everywhere.
Still watching and hoping for the election results to be sensible...

    1. Thank you so much, EC. It helps a lot to know that so many friends in other countries care about us and understand how that man humiliates us and makes our lives miserable. Princess is a real champion when it comes to shedding.

  2. Good for you for putting up a yard sign! Rebekah looks very fetching in her dog hair toupee, I must say. But what caught my eye in that photo is the lovely wooden cabinet with the pressed tin door inserts -- love it!

    1. I'll pass on your compliment to Rebekah. I asked to use the photo on my blog and she said, I'm always up for being humiliated. I told her she wouldn't be humiliated because my readers will love her trump hair. I love that pie safe. We bought it in Maryland. I have an end table that matches it and had some other pieces, too, but they stayed with the X.

  3. I have so many Trump signs in my neighborhood that my heart sings when I see a Harris one. While I live in a blue state by little town is very red.

    1. I think a lot of small towns/rural communities are red. At least you live in a blue state. My state is a sad red.

  4. Yay for your Harris sign! And hopefully all of the Harris signs you saw is an indicator that the orange menace will be soon gone. (one can wish)

    1. I wish and I hope, Michael. Florida is sure to go for trump, but in 2020 my county was the only one that went for Biden and it will probably be the only one to go for Harris. It's depressing.

  5. I once had a standard collie. I brushed shopping bags of hair from him on a regular basis.
Soon it will end and VP Harris will be POTUS!

  6. Yes, I know all about how much shepherds shed! One of my clients had a white one named Luke. I used to drive him to the park three times a week for a frisbee workout and walk. My car's interior was blanketed in Luke's white fur. No point cleaning it, because I'd be vacuuming constantly. Thus, the "dirty old dog mobile" was born. ☺ I'll be glued to the TV come election night and hope it works out for Harris. Canadians are in fear of Trump getting elected too!

    1. Of course, Putin loves having trump in office because trump is a putin lover. Sane people do not want a repeat with trump's extra added threats of violence and horrible behavior.

  7. So glad you are seeing more Harris signs! It is depressing to live in a normally red state, I know. We need to get rid of the electoral college!!
Took five days to get the Biden win, I think, if I remember correctly. So we won't know right away, but we'll have a good idea in a day or two. Hang in there! :)

    1. I remember my son knocking on my door on the Saturday morning following the election to tell me the race was finally being called for Joe Biden, so yes, that's four days. Trump was screaming the whole time to stop the count!

  8. Where do you get all these dolls? They are amusing. I'm partial to Pelosi in a matching face mask, a fashion statement she carried to perfection

I am so ready for Madam President!

  11. How awful to be scared to put up a sign. Well done!
