Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,
Here we are, waiting for Hurricane Milton to arrive, although we have a second big pile of debris from Hurricane Helene at the curb still waiting for a big truck to come to whisk it away. Wouldn't you know we'd get the yard cleaned up only to have another storm move in?
My messy yard stuff is nothing compared to the suffering so many other people have experienced because of Helene.
We expect a lot more rain this time, along with the wind. *big sigh* The Little Pump That Could is back in the yard (I had just put it away in the garage), and we have plenty of hurricane appropriate snacks and drinks.
This morning I'm going to head to the pharmacy for my flu shot and the latest COVID vaccine.
I had my yearly physical last week. My blood pressure was low, low, low.
A few weeks ago I had a medical colonoscopy/endoscopy, as opposed to a screening colonoscopy. The doctor said afterward that I don't have cancer and I do have acid reflux, so I have yet another pill added to the handful I take each morning. I need to go in to see his assistant to find out what else is wrong with me, other than I'm full of shit.
I'll do my best to report on Milton. We still miss Franklin, the Weather Watch Dog. When Franklin went out and came back with wet fur, it was raining. When Franklin panted, it was hot. When Franklin decamped for my bedroom closet, it was thundering.
I hope you'll stick around for the Another Junebug Production video below, starring Fritz The Wonder Dog.
Infinities of love,
Janie Junebug
I hope Milton doesn't do you too much damage! Stay safe, Janie et al.
ReplyDeleteWe'll do our best. We're not the reckless types who go to the beach during a hurricane.
DeletePenelope does look confused by that critter! lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys are all set up and prepared as you can be.
Blog when you can so we know you are all okay. :)
I will blog when I can and stay in touch with you by email, too.
DeleteI hope you will all weather the storm safely. How awful to have another one so soon! 😩 Glad to know you don't have cancer, Janie! Acid reflux is manageable (I have it too), and may whatever else is ailing you be minor. 🤞
ReplyDeleteI'm not really aware of having acid reflux other than the occasional indigestion so I'm fortunate. I'm taking my meds, though.
DeleteI hope your blood pressure stays low, Janie. When I hear of yet another storm heading to Florida, I think of you and hope you and the canines are okay
ReplyDeleteThank you for thinking of us, Mirka. We appreciate it.
DeletePoor Fritz. Will no one do what he says? He’s being very clear.
ReplyDeleteHe needs a translator. I still don't know who he's voting for.
DeleteHoping the storm passes you by.
ReplyDeleteMoi aussi.
DeleteI wondered about this hurricane!!! I sure hope you will be alright. They are saying this is going to be terrible. A semi close friend lost his house in Helene I hear....he is now done and moving mid Atlantic now. I guess remodeling four times was enough. Fritiz is a talker!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNow keep us posted when you can and please stay safe or leave if you can.
Xox
I'll stay in touch, and yes, Fritz loves to talk. I can't afford to move, and wherever I go, if there aren't hurricanes, there are still tornadoes, earthquakes, whatever. The first earthquake I experienced was in Illinois, of all places.
DeleteThe house next door is for sale, you can buy that and we'll be neighbors. You can even borrow the houseboys!!!!!! And the worst we have is maybe some snow in the winter and that is even rare anymore.
DeleteWell, if I can borrow the houseboys, I'm on my way, honey.
DeleteAnd what a stubborn governor you have!!!! Maybe he will be washed out to sea!!!! Heavens knows with all his hot air...he'll just bob along and they'll think he is a weather buoy.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha! I'm imagining him in the ocean right now! He'd still have his high-heeled boots on.
Delete😂😂😂😂😂 I can hear it now. "Ok DeSantis, it's a go-go."
DeleteI really, really hope that Milton isn't as mean as predicted.
ReplyDeleteThank you, EC. I hope so, too. We're not in an evacuation zone. We do out best to prepare and that's all we can do.
DeleteGood luck riding out the hurricane. Stay safe. Shirley enjoyed listening to Fritz bark! She kept cocking her head from one side to another. Maybe she understood what he was saying!
ReplyDeleteShirley probably did understand Fritz. Penelope and Princess seem to know what he's talking about.
DeleteHopefully Fritz was saying that tRump is an ass! I tell that to Shirley all of the time.
DeleteKnowing Fritz, I think he was saying far worse than that big baby is an ass. Fritz has a filthy mouth on him.
DeleteI wish i spoke Fritz but, alas ....
ReplyDeleteStay safe; sending all good thoughts that everyone comes through the storm.
xoxo
We're as prepared as we can be. I've never been in an evacuation zone. If it happens this time, I'll make for the nearest Hilton that's still standing.
DeleteMilton. My heart breaks. Stay safe to see many more colonoscopies to come. Well, you probably won't see them. Because you'll be asleep. Hopefully.
ReplyDeleteHello, Penwusser. I'd rather sleep through my colonoscopies. It's the only time I get any rest, and I have to wait years in between them.
DeleteStay safe. I'm worried about Milton.
ReplyDeleteSandra sandracox.blogspot.com
Rebekah and I are kind of worried, too. We're taking it seriously. The most frightened I've been before a hurricane was with Ian. It turned out I was frightened for the rest of the state because Ian fizzled out before he made it here.
DeleteWe're hearing Milt will be a big, bad storm. Stay low.
ReplyDeleteNot too low, though. We don't want to be underwater!
DeleteHoping Uncle Milty poops out and loses strength before it reaches you. I have a friend in Sarasota and invited her to come stay with us, but she is staying put. Very worried. I hope your climate change denying governor gets thrown out of office next election or sooner. What a jerk!!
ReplyDeleteSarasota is supposed to be bad. I saw on Facebook that some people in evacuation zones were upset about leaving because the interstate is absolutely packed and it takes forever to get anywhere. Evacuations need to be better organized so people can get where they're going. And what about the people who don't have transportation?
DeleteI do hope you have no ill effects from that Hurricane, I'm fearful for those in the direct path of it who won't evacuate as the experts are saying it is un-survivable. One of my Besties has an Adult Daughter and Grandkids who live there and she just said on her Social Media site that she's decided not to evacuate and that alarmed me. She's an intelligent gal and her Kiddos are Young, she has the means to leave, I think she should to be on the safe side... so I pray she's making a wise decision? We just got Vaxxed too, it's always a good idea to given how deadly everything seems to be for us Old Timers. *Le Sigh*
ReplyDeleteI'm concerned about people in the parts of the state that will be hardest hit, too, but it's also really difficult to get on the roads to get out. The interstate has been packed. At this point, everyone is being told to shelter in place. I hope your friend's daughter and her children will be okay.
