Thank you to my lovely friend Joanne at Cup On The Bus for posting the link to this excellent Robert Reich video that provides a cogent list of the worst things about trump's presidency––just in case someone is thinking about voting for him and can't remember how awful it was the first time around.
Reich actually gives us more than the 10 worst things during the former guy's term in office, but the list goes by quickly. If you think Reich missed anything, then please share it in your comment.

DeleteThe problem is that what we see as appalling is viewed favourably by his supporters, who also routinely believe every lie he tells, and buy the ridiculous merchandise he peddles. Reich is speaking to the converted.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Birdman. He's selling Trump shoes, Trump bibles, and the most recent one I heard about is a silver "coin" with his image on it. It's about 1 1/2 inches and costs $100. We've also just learned that Melania is paid a speaker's fee of around 250k when she appears at a campaign event and says something in her broken English. The people who donate to his campaign are paying that speaker's fee. No other candidate's spouse has gotten or is getting paid to go to campaign events. Everything is about the grift with donold and melanoma. The liars who follow him love his lies. I think believing this crazy stuff excites them.

ReplyDeleteI feel the same way, but I know people who love and support him. I have an extended family member who is a trumper and a friend who thinks he's great. We just can't talk about politics. Anyway, the friend says she doesn't vote because it makes no difference. Since she would vote for trump, I'm glad she doesn't vote.

ReplyDeleteI said in a comment above that I think people enjoy believing his crazy stuff and get excited about it. Some people also don't know the difference between his lies and the truth. They take what he says as gospel. It's a lot like believing headlines on click bait.

When he became so unruly that his parents sent him to a military academy, as he became older and more advanced, he delighted in being allowed to hit other kids. He's nothing but a bully.

He's been what he is and committing Crimes since the 1970's, I just never imagined he'd develop the Cult following he has, but, I never understood why anyone was devoted to a Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and numerous other Evil and Mentally deranged dangerous Leaders of the Past. I guess too many Humans have a dark underbelly that becomes exposed when they reveal who they admire and will follow and defend.

DeleteMy cousin, whom I love, is all for Trump. Mind you, he might be wavering a bit now. I remember that my cousin said he is one of them. I asked him if he has gold faucets in the bathroom and did his dad start home off withnmillions. . I would add how he has raped women, but that was covered up. How he was friends with Epstein and went to those parties with underage girls. How, when he ran the Miss Universe beauty contest, he would just show up and walk through their change room.. I saw that on TV plus, when the winner gained 20 lbs he called her a fat pig and derided her..all caught on Entertainment Tonight a d she apologized! Look at how he went after Rosie O'Donnell and wesaw it and nothing was done. Many sided with him because she is not a model or typical beauty. When he was on that radio show with thatlonh haired guy...can't remember his name. Trump mentioned how he was at a fashion show and some old man fell in front of him, landed on the stone floor and bashed his head, bleeding g everywhere. Trump said he was disgusted that blood may get on his shoes and that they man was an idiot. Oha what about how he talked about John McCain, a true hero from Vietnam calling McCain a coward for getting captured. I think, donny dodged the draft. He's disgusting but he has su h followers that, if he told them to wear purple sneakers and drink Kool aid, they would. Very sad.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people have had to deal with having family members who are in the cult. I have a trumper in my extended family. The rapes aren't as covered up as they used to be. He has to pay millions to E. Jean Carroll for sexually abusing and defaming her. A number of women have stated he assaulted them. I also read that a woman he raped when he was with Epstein (she was very young at the time) had come forward, but it's been a while since I heard about that, so I don't know if it's a rumor or it's true. He not only walked into the dressing rooms at the Miss USA and Miss Universe competitions, he also went in at the pageant for teenagers! He's absolutely vile.
