It's important for people to see that there are actually caring staff in nursing homes. But a lot of funny things happened, too. It's one of the signs of impending death. It doesn't always happen, though. Although some family members were very difficult, I still think it's good for families to come in and make sure that things are getting done. Families also need to watch for signs of abuse. It's easy to forget when you have a relative in a care home that a limited number of staff have a large number of people that need a great deal of care and a limited amount of time to do it in. I suppose we feel guilty that we aren't looking after them and think that by haranguing the staff we are doing out bit.<br />Working in a care home must give you a unique take on life, you see the states that many of us will get into as we age.
