I was concerned about Favorite Young Man and K last week because ICE was in their area. In the city where FYM works, ICE smashed a window on a vehicle, pulled out the driver and arrested her because she honked her horn.
I texted him immediately to tell him he's still my baby boy and I was worried. He replied that the morons assholes pieces of shit (morons, assholes, and pieces of shit are my words, not his) the agents were probably downtown and the place where he works is outside of town. K said the school where she works was on high alert with all doors closed and an area prepared in case they need to hide children.
We no longer live in the United States; we're in 📙hell.
Happily, our weather has been beautiful with highs in the low 80s and lows overnight in the 50s. It's excellent dog walking weather. I was especially proud of Princess as we enjoyed a long walk Saturday afternoon. She walked at heel perfectly the entire time. As we approached the neighborhood park, a vehicle backed up toward us. Princess watched, too, and let out a soft warning woof. She's such a good girl.
Saturday evening I went to a pharmacy for my flu shot and pneumonia vaccine (I already had the COVID vaccine in October). I started to feel tired and achy a few hours later. Flu shots haven't bothered me in years. I think I had a reaction because I got two vaccines at the same time. I needed a long nap Sunday afternoon.
My arm also hurt more than usual after the COVID vaccine. But I'd much rather have some aches and pains than have COVID, the flu, or pneumonia. I've noticed how frequently pneumonia is the cause of death for older people. Diane Keaton is one example.
We're expected to have a nasty flu season because of vaccine skepticism. Thanks a lot, Worm Brain Bobby. He's not a doctor. He doesn't have any expertise in healthcare. He cites disproven studies and even invents sources to back up his crazy vaccines-are-bad- for-you beliefs. Wouldn't you know 🟠 would want the one Kennedy in his cabinet who all the other Kennedys hate?
If you haven't gotten your flu shot, I hope you'll get one now.
My upcoming long weekend will find me getting the Christmas tree up and decorated. Princess and I will have good times together, too. She loves turkey, as do I. We have a Costco heat-and-eat Thanksgiving dinner in the refrigerator. Yum!

We are sure living in scary times. With each passing day, there is something new that makes my mouth gape open. I knew when the felon won in 2024 it would be bad, but I never believed it would be this bad. Never in a million years. The weather you describe is my perfect weather, and yes, it is great for dog walking. Have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy your time with Princess.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know it would be this bad either. I thought it would be more of a continuation of the felon's first term, which we survived. But here we are with his vengeance term.

DeleteGreat song, and it begs the question -- where are all the NEW protest songs that should be being written like they were in the 60s and 70s? I suppose the music industry today does not lend itself to promoting such music.

I have regular COVID shots and always get a sore arm too. Other people have worse symptoms, so I won't complain. Hope you feel better soon! Flu shots are out of the question, due to an egg allergy, but thank goodness, my husband gets them every year and there's been no flu here in decades. As for pneumonia - I was hospitalized for nine days in 2016 wtih a severe case, so those vaccines are a must! All these anti-vaxxers are causing the return of illnesses that were eradicated! 😫 Canada just lost its measles-free designation, thanks to many outbreaks in Ontario and Alberta. STUPID!! 😠
Measles! It's been so upsetting to know about measles outbreaks and some deaths of children with measles. This crap doesn't have to happen.

ReplyDeleteI don't think ICE has come to Florida, probably because it's a Republican majority state. North Carolina's governor is a Democrat, so that makes their state a target. I hate it!
DeleteUgh. So much stupidity causing so much disaster (on everything you mentioned). Robert F. Kennedy, the father, was my favourite of the family. He was the exact opposite of his son.
ReplyDeleteJunior's attitude towards vaccinations has caught on here in Canada. We have a former friend who doesn't believe in vaccinations and that's why she's a former friend. Michael is immunocompromised and can pick up any germ or virus.
I agree with you about Worm Brain. He is nothing like his father. Frontline on PBS did a documentary on Jr., which included information about his love of conspiracy theories and his victim mentality. I know Bobby Kennedy's children experienced a terrible loss when their father was killed, but out of all of them, Bobby Jr. seems to be the only one who is an absolute asshole. It's also alleged he encouraged his brother David to use drugs. David died from an overdose.
