THESE ARE MY DOGGIES
These are my doggies on drugs.
Try to have a safe & sane Fourth of July.
Franklin, Penelope, and I would appreciate it if you'd cease and desist with the fireworks. We'd all be much happier, and none of us would need sedatives.
Buster is fine and could care less. Lillith on the other hand is a hand full and is like a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown. We're on night three.
Due to the bad weather we had more thunder than fireworks, though I am guessing people will save the fireworks for a drier night this week. Dogs are totes adorbs. xoxo
Even with the meds, Penelope spent the night in my bedroom closet. We might get a few residual fireworks tonight or next weekend. I hope it's over, though.
I'm not alone among humans (not counting canines and felines) to wish fireworks would go away. They are loud, frankly scary, and where I live they have been known to start fires which we don't need thank you very much
Our town didn't have fireworks this year (under a new noise by-law) and the FB comments were so bad. People were so derisive of others and couldn't, or wouldn't, understand why others might not like the noise or smoke. I think they were not the majority opinion, but as usual the mouthy ones are the ones who post on FB. I hope your fireworks have finally stopped by now and your furry friends are happier.
To comment on the neighborhood FB page that the fireworks are disturbing is to make oneself an object of derision. I would love to have a town without fireworks.
I am sure the anxiety has to be bad for them, prayers it isn’t too much tonight
ReplyDeleteThank you. They are very relaxed because of the medication and haven't budged in a couple of hours.
DeleteThey're doing a good imitation of Cheech and Chong!
ReplyDeleteHA!

ReplyDeleteLillith and I should have nervous breakdowns together. I hate the noise.
DeleteHope Franklin and Penelope did OK... and you, too. “Ticks, fleas. Ticks, fleas.” Oh, to see inside the mind of Gary Larson.
ReplyDeleteI've always been sure that Gary Larson knows exactly what dogs--and farm animals, especially cows--are thinking.
DeleteI was glad to read that the sedatives worked - and very sad that they are needed. Thanks for the funnies.
ReplyDeleteI wish they weren't needed, too. The fireworks weren't too bad this year on Memorial Day, but July 4th and New Year's Eve are always bad.
DeleteOh well done Janie on helping them through the noise of those pyrotechnic devices ... take care and Happy 4th of yesterday - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThank you, Hilary. I had to hide the pills in peanut butter between two crackers. If Franklin sees a pill, he'll spit it out.
DeleteNever mind the dogs, I'd be happy to see the end of the fireworks.
ReplyDeleteThat's an end I would be happy to see, too.

They are totes adorbs. I love my two devils in fur coats.
DeletePoor sedated doggies! I'm sure they were happy to see the sun rise on July 5th.

Not to mention the injuries, such as fingers blown off.
DeletePoor pups! I hope you don't have *those* neighbors who shoot off fireworks the whole damn month.
ReplyDeleteThe fireworks haven't been quite as bad this year, maybe because people don't have enough money for them.
DeleteI hope things went well and you and the doggies had a happy holiday. 💕 We hate those damn fireworks too! 😠
ReplyDeleteWe got through it.
DeletePoor babies! I hope you all got through that alright. Happy belated 4th!

DeleteLove The far Side. Sorry about the fireworks. (Don't know why I'm apologising: I'm not even in the same country!)
ReplyDeleteThe Far Side makes me happy.
