THANK YOU & AND FLIPPERSMACK

Gentle Readers .  . . and Maxwell,

I offer great gratitude to all the people who visited Rachel. Please continue to show her support. She doesn't have much time to blog because she works so hard, but making a comment on a blog doesn't have to be tit for tat.

I've noticed that many people don't comment on my blog unless I comment on their blogs first. I don't worry about that. I comment when the opportunity presents itself. I haven't commented as much as usual for the past month or so. I'm bizzy as a to be or not to be.

Now here's the announcement: Janie Junebug Righting & Editing might be getting into the marketing business.

A team of entrepreneurs is working on starting a new marketing company called FlipperSmack.

The idea is to connect brands with "influencers."

Apparently, I am an influencer, one of one hundred selected by the FlipperSmack team. If all goes well, I shall assist in getting the company off the ground, starting here in Jacksonville and in nearby St. Augustine.

When I know more, I'll keep you informed. I'm excited about the possibility of working with FlipperSmack.

It's also fun to say FlipperSmack.

I am now packed to the gills with Motrin and Tylenol. I'm not as achy, and the rage is gone. I'm glad I'll see my new doctor again soon. The insurance company refuses to fill some of my prescriptions.

Bite my little pink butt, Insurance Company.

But I'm sure glad I have you, Mr. Company. I found a great new doctor, too. Carol said he was good, so I knew it was true.

I'm off to bed earlier than usual. I hope I sleep until morning. I can't get the the prescription filled for medication to help me sleep. I have horrible nightmares. I wake up frequently during the night. Between the insurance company and the pharmacy, several prescriptions haven't been filled.

But now, I'm as sleepy as Franklin:

More good news: A certain little lady doggy slept with me three nights last week. She's getting to be a habit with me.

How many times can you say FlipperSmack, one after another?

Best wishes to all you A to Z-ers. I'll stop by to read as many of your posts as I can. I have a lot of work to do, so I can't read all the posts. Besides, if I tried, I don't think I could read all the posts unless I read 24/7. The A to Z-er world is large.

Blessings to all of you.

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

  1. FlipperSmack - sounds interesting. I hope it turns out to be a great adventure for you.
I might have to drive to Pensacola in a couple weeks. Which I know is exact opposite of Jacksonville. But maybe if time / health permit we could meet halfway? I'll email you as I know more.

    1. I'd love to meet you. I don't know if I can drive very far, but someone might be available to chauffeur me. I've never been anywhere near Pensacola.

  2. FlipperSmack is fun to say :) I'm usually guilty of not commenting unless someone comments on my blog; I just get caught up in life and work, and it is hard to balance it all sometimes...and here I am doing the A to Z :p

I visited Rachel, and I'm glad I did. It is good to know that we are never alone, there are always others out there who are hurting physically and emotionally and we need to provide a support system for one another.

Also, I work in a pharmacy, so I understand all too well the issues of prescriptions and insurance companies, and I hope your situation works out quickly. At least you have a good sleeping buddy, our furry friends are a great source of comfort :)

    1. Penelope spent the night in the bed again. She's learning to cuddle. It must be difficult to work in a pharmacy with people who are upset because you can't fill their prescriptions.

  3. I hope things work out, blog mommy! Otherwise I'll come beat people up for you.

  4. Wow, congrats on your gig with FlipperSmack! That's awesome. Can't wait to hear more about it. Love the name. Wonder how they came up with that??
I hate insurance companies! It's a shame in this country that our government allows insurance companies to essentially dictate our healthcare. If my doctor says I need a certain prescription, then I ought to be able to get it. I'm always fighting with my insurance company and it's exhausting! I feel your pain, believe me.

I hope you get to feeling better and can get some sleep. I'm off to go back to bed. It's only 5am and I was awakened by a barking Pug...
    talk soon.
    XOXO

    2. A flipper smack is a form of non-verbal communication for dolphins and whales. It creates ripples and sound waves that get attention.

When an influencer (like you Janie) broadcasts a message, it radiates out to an audience. If that message reaches other people with audiences, it may create another point of impact and ripple out across the networks of people.

We picked our name because it symbolized what we are doing and of course -- it's fun to say.

FlipperSmack thanks you too Janie, but please - no new posts about us – at least for a couple months. We haven't started beta testing yet. I think the creative team has matched you with one of the first campaigns that will show others how to use the app/website.

We developed the platform for people just like you, I hope you have fun with it.

    3. I love the information about "flipper smack." It's great. Thanks for the visit. The blog post was suggested to me by my contact at FlipperSmack, but I'll hold off on writing anything else until you tell me you are ready.

  6. Oh no, is the A-to-Z upon us again? I must brace myself. There was something to do with Rachel that I missed? I'll have to go back and show some support. FlipperSmack sounds like my favorite breakfast cereal. Good job influencing!

    1. Spell-check is helpful, and I encourage writers to take a look when it flags something. Sometimes we have to do more research. Commenter! Commenters! Mine says commenter and commenters are wrong. How about commentor? Nope.

  27. I'm not sure how the FlipperSmack people found you, but I'm sure you ae up for the challenge. Is that grammatically correct - FlipperSmack? As for the insurance companies, we have seen increases in premiums and decreases in their payments this year. Ugh!

    1. I imagine FlipperSmack is correct for the online world. My insurance payments are a little lower this year, and I have better co-pays and better services. Thank you, President Obama, for the Affordable Care Act!

I am in my home office in my little house in Florida. I'm taking off April from blogging so I can do other things, such as my taxes. Penelope sleeps with me every night now. She's like a little heating pad on my lower back. When I wake up, even if it's only for a few seconds, I rub her soft head. Franklin still refuses to join us in bed. At least he's always on the rug next to the bed. I can put out my hand, and he hops up and comes to me. He's a loyal dog.
