DRIP DRIP DROP LITTLE FURNACE SHOWERS

Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

I can't thank you enough for your kind comments on Rachel's blog. I send you all hugs and kisses.

If you haven't yet visited When A Lion Sleeps, Let It Sleep, then I urge you to check out Rachel's interview with Megan, who is transgender. It's a great opportunity for us to learn from Megan, and I'm so proud of Rachel for posting Megan's story.

I felt a tiny concern that someone would make a rude comment to Rachel and Megan--certainly not one of my friends, but someone we don't know. Instead, everyone has come through with flying colors, and I love you all the more for it. New folks, welcome to you. Thank you for joining us in our quest to love and understand.

The furnace stopped leaking for a while. Then it started leaking more. I texted my son, who said the PVC pipe was probably clogged. I checked it. Nope. I wish it could have been that simple.

The leaking increases, while my frustration decrees I might cry.

My son should be here soon. I have faith he'll solve the problem. The drip is worse when the AC is on. Unfortunately, I need the air conditioning because the second of November is quite warm and humid.

I'm also concerned about my friend Cherdo, who blogs at Cherdo on the Flipside. Recently, her son was in a serious car accident. She has a lot going on with caring for him and keeping up with her work.

I know for a fact that she posted a Battle of the Bands yesterday. Her song was Jolene. I voted for my beloved White Stripes. Now Cherdo's BOTB has vanished.

I haven't had a chance to talk to Cherdo. Now, if you know me, you know I strive to love my neighbor as myself. But if someone has been unkind to my Cherdo, then that person should expecct the wrath of the Junebug because I will not tolerate cruelty to Cherdo any more than I'd tolerate rudeness to Rachel and Megan.

John and Yoko, please sing us out.

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

  1. I know that Cherdo is struggling caring for her son after that terrible accident, and I continue to send positive thoughts her way.

    1. Yes, she's very busy. That's why we haven't talked, and I'm concerned about her.

  2. I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for Cherdo's absence. Patience :)

    1. But she had a Battle of the Bands post, and now it's gone.

  3. I think Cherdo is just super busy with work. When he son was injured she email and did a bit of uneasy, not knowing, very upset venting as one does.
I know he has more operations ahead of him but I really think it is just work.
But really what do I know ?
Will have to read the post i will be very interested in what she says. And if and what she thinks of Jenner. who has all the money in the world and still playing (to me)
the I am a star cry card.
Anyways you take care and when all fails kick something !

    cheers, parsnip

    1. The interview isn't a discussion of Caitlyn Jenner. Rather, Megan answers some questions. I would like to kick the furnace, but I'd probably break my foot.

  4. Hello everyone (especially my blog mom)!

I wanted to personally thank everyone who stopped by but didn't leave a comment for me to thank them on my blog. It means a lot that everyone has been so kind, positive, and supportive to a stranger. It gives me hope for this world.

I also wanted to add that I am Janie's personal body guard and I've added Cherdo to the list of people I'll fight for because if my blog mom loves her, so do I. Dealing with Janie or me alone is bad enough but you better pray not to cross us both. :)

(Megan is also on my list of people to protect because she is my beautiful, kind hearted new friend, who can also tolerate my horrible jokes. She must be protected too.)

If you haven't checked out Megan's interview, she is personally responding to comments and questions as they come in, so now is a great time to ask anything you want to know about what it's like to be transgender.

And directly to my blog mom,
Thank you so much for helping spread the word and the love. You've done so much more than either of us could have asked.

    Love,
    Rachel

    1. You are my darling girl. If you love Megan, then I love her. She is my neighbor no matter where she lives.

  5. Janie, I'm fine and Gonzo had a very good report at the doctor today that thrills us all. He's going to be able to do more and start PT this week.

It will be so much easier now that they are starting to allow him to bear weight on his leg (the boy is not small...at all...all my sons are way taller than me). That has made it a real struggle to keep him involved in all of his activities but we have been able to do that and I thank God and those who prayed for him.

So, we're turning a corner and it's a good thing.

My BOTB went south and so I err on the side of caution always. I don't want anyone to have hurt feelings over comments, etc. Rather than pick and chose, sometimes it's best to just trash it all.

    Love you, friend!

  6. I hope you can find the furnace problem.
Life gets too busy to deal with blogging sometimes. Maybe she didn't want to have to do the followup? I hope her boy is okay.
Love John! My favorite Beatle. :)

  7. Glad to see that Cherdo commented and that things are looking up.
I missed Rachel's post so I'm really glad you pointed it out. Megan seems to have a level head and her openness is great and will hopefully lead to greater compassion and understanding. All aboard the quest to love and understand!
    Good luck with the furnace.

  8. Hey Janie, have you checked the drain pan on your AC unit. Mine leaked a while back when the drain hole clogged. Just a thought.

It woul not occur to me to write something unkind on the blogs of my friends (or their friends) life is too short. I haven't read Jackie's interview, but what people do with their lives is their business. I can imagine the path Megan chose cannot be an easy one, but there are times when all our paths get rocky.
I'll check in on our friend Cherdo.

    1. I'm not sure who Jackie is, but I think you mean Rachel. I know you wouldn't make unkind comments. You are a live and let live kind of guy. Not worth it to get upset.

  9. All leaks are scary! I now panic every time. Our house flooded in 2000 and now I have a small flip-out anytime we have water even if it is just from the washing machine. I may need therapy.

    1. I can provide your therapy. Remember how Lucy had a booth and Charlie Brown asked her questions? Lucy charged five cents. I will charge five hundred thousand cents. Now, how may I help you?

You're sweet to worry about your friends. :)

    1. It was an easy fix when my son arrived. I looked in the wrong place for the pipe that was clogged. I love all my friends.

  11. I have not checked out these other blogs you have mentioned before so I will do so now and send my best wishes and prayers their way
