GRATEFUL WHAT? MONDAY

Gentle Readers . . . and Maxwell,

Later this week, we Americans will celebrate our day of Thanksgiving, but I don't think we need a holiday to be able to proclaim how grateful we are.

So, today's What? Monday question is the following:

For what are you grateful?

If I told you all the reasons I'm grateful, I'd never finish this post. Therefore, I shall do my best to choose the most important reasons I'm grateful.

I am grateful for my children:

I'm not sure whose kid this one is -- never seen her before in my life,
but I'll be grateful for her anyway.

Little Chick and President Jimmy Carter

Favorite Young Man

I am grateful for dogs:

Franklin

Harper

Scout
I met Elvis Aaron Schwarz last summer. I'm very grateful for him.

I have edited four books during the past year. I'm so grateful to the authors and publishers who trusted me to perform this task.

And I am so very, very grateful for each and every one of you. You make my day, my month, and my year when you read my blog and, especially, when you leave a comment.

Photo of random blog readers.
Don't know who they are.

I am even grateful for mentalpause. It means that life goes on.

Thursday is supposed to be a holiday, but really it's just another day -- another day during which we can express our gratitude. I don't know where I'll be, but I'm alive; and I'm grateful because I no longer look like this:

Now, it's your turn. Tell me, please, For what are you grateful?

Infinities of love,

Janie Junebug

P.S. I won't post again this week. You'll be busy stuffing your turkey and yourself, and then the wild ones among you will go shopping. I'll see you next week, perhaps on Cyber Monday. Now, that's my kind of shopping day.

Also, I admit I'm a little sad that I no longer look like this, but I don't miss the teenage angst.

  3. I'm grateful for YOU--& all the other people in Bloggerland who have become such a large part of my life. I'm grateful for the fancy restaurant dinner I had last night & the family I shared it with. I'm grateful, too, for the pot roast I'm going to have tonight. At my age, I'm also VERY grateful that I'm still looking down at the grass instead of up at it! HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU & YOURS!!

  4. I am thankful for the 2.5 miles I ran today (without stopping) and that my body is healthy enough to do it. I am thankful for the kids ages and that I no longer have to schlep around a ton of crap whenever we go anywhere. I am thankful that my husband took them home tonight for me, so I didn't have to schlep THEM to the mall with me to get a few things done. And I am thankful for hot dogs with the cheese in the middle. Because they enabled me to not have to make a real dinner for Youngest after doing all this today. :)

  5. Wonderful list of things to be thankful for! It is always good to stop and think every day of all our blessings (I'm terrible at doing this myself) so I'm glad there is one day set apart each year where we can take that time to be grateful and thankful. May you have a wonderful Thanksgiving however it is spent!

  18. Dear Janie, thank you for sharing your gratitude list. Like you, I'm grateful for many things. When I was in the convent I used to think that nuns were somewhat crazy when they said, "Sister Innocence, pray for good health." Now I find myself at age 76--their ages then--being so grateful for good health and for a body that walks and talks and feels and can still dance and sing and feel the warmth of sun, the freshness of rain, the coolness of breeze and the kiss of a snowflake. Peace.

  28. You have a LOT of readers and a lot of comments to be grateful for. As for me and Stud, every day we list to each other the things we love the most. So far, it's always the same: Our home, each other, our dog. Some days, our dog gets the number one spot. lol
